I. Preliminary Examination (100 Marks)
- A screening test only, to shortlist candidates for the Main (Written) Examination.
- Objective Type MCQs, with OMR or Computer-Based Test (CBT) evaluation as decided by the Commission.
- 100 questions of 1 mark each; 2 hours duration.
- Negative Marking: 25% of marks deducted for each wrong answer; zero marks for unattempted questions.
- Candidates securing qualifying marks (fixed by the Commission) will be admitted to the Main Examination, in the ratio of up to 10 times the vacancies per category.
- Marks secured in the Preliminary Examination are not counted towards the final Merit List.
II. Main Examination (650 Marks)
- Written Examination (600 Marks): 4 papers of 150 marks each, Subjective and Descriptive Answer type. Qualifying marks fixed by the Commission for each paper and/or aggregate.
- Candidates securing qualifying marks are shortlisted in a 1:2 ratio (minimum 5) with reference to category-wise vacancies, for the Personality Test/Interview.
- Personality Test/Interview (50 Marks).
III. Select List
- The final Merit List is prepared based on marks obtained in the Written Examination and Interview combined (650 marks), category-wise.
- Tie-Breaking: Higher marks in the Written Examination prevail first; if still tied, the older candidate (by date of birth) is placed higher.
