Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Kolkata, is recruiting eligible candidates for 07 Project Personnel posts viz.- Research Associate, Junior Research Fellows (JRF)/ Junior Project Assistants (JRA) and Field Assistant. The vacancies are under the project entitled ‘Conservation of Threatened Vertebrate Fauna in Indian Himalayan Region through Long-term Monitoring and capacity Building’ funded by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India through National Mission of Himalayan Studies. The candidates will be appointed on Temporary basis initially for One (01) year but extendable maximum upto December, 2020 based on performance and requirement of Zoological Survey of India (ZSI). ZOOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA (ZSI), KOLKATA, WILL CONDUCT WALK-IN-INTERVIEW FOR 07 POSTS OF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWS (JRF)/ JUNIOR PROJECT ASSISTANTS (JRA) AND FIELD ASSISTANT. WALK-IN DATE — 26/06/2019

 

1. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RA-III)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. and Ph.D in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Wildlife/ Environmental Sciences/ Biodiversity & Conservation or equivalent.
Experience: At least 02 years of research experience/ teaching experience after obtaining the Ph.D degree.
Desirable: Prior work experience in the Indian Himalayan Region/ Knowledge/ experience/ Wildlife ecology/ bioinformatics/ Geo-informatics/ climate change studies with at least one publication in SCI journal. Proven experience in data analysis, GIS, Bio/ Geo-Informatics, Science writing and communication, organising workshops, seminar, symposium, training programme etc.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 26/06/2019.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.40,000/- per month.

 

2. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RA-I)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: i) M.Sc. and Ph.D in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Wildlife/ Environmental Sciences/ Biodiversity & Conservation or equivalent.
ii) Candidate with Ph.D. thesis submitted may also apply.
Desirable: Prior work experience in the Indian Himalayan Region/ Knowledge/ experience/ ecology/ bioinformatics/ climate change studies with at least one publication in SCI journal. Proven experience in Data analysis, GIS, Bio/ Geo-Informatics, Science writing and communication, organising workshops, seminar, symposium, training programme etc.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 26/06/2019.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.36,000/- per month.

 

3. JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWS (JRF)/ JUNIOR PROJECT ASSISTANTS (JRA)
No. of Vacancies: 03 Nos. (JRF- 01 post, JRA- 02 posts)
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Life Sciences/ Wildlife/ Environmental Sciences/ Biodiversity & Conservation or equivalent in any branch of biological Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable: Experience/ knowledge/ interest on field data collection/ Bioinformatics/ Geoinformatics/ Wildlife Ecology/ GIS/ Climate change.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on 26/06/2019.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.16,000/- per month.

 

4. FIELD ASSISTANT
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: B.Sc. with Zoology as one of the subjects from a recognized University.
Desirable: i) Field experience and knowledge of computer will be an added advantage.
ii) Candidates from Himalayan region will be given preference.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 26/06/2019.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.12,000/- per month.

 

The vacancies are under the project entitled ‘Conservation of Threatened Vertebrate Fauna in Indian Himalayan Region through Long-term Monitoring and capacity Building’ funded by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India through National Mission of Himalayan Studies. Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable as per Govt. norms.
