Punjabi Language: Under Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994, candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi exam.

PSSSB Group B Selection Process 2026
- Written Exam (MCQ): Each question carries 1 mark, and ¼ mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
- Merit List: Prepared from written exam marks, category-wise.
- Counselling / Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates bring original certificates and attested copies.
- Recommendation: Eligible candidates are recommended to the department according to the number of posts at that time.
Tie-breaking rule: If marks are equal, the older candidate ranks higher. If age is also equal, the higher percentage in the required qualification wins, and finally the higher Matriculation marks.
Note: For Legal Assistant posts, candidates will be asked for their department preference later. The syllabus and roll numbers will be posted on the SSSB website.
How to Apply for PSSSB Group B Recruitment 2026
- Visit the official website sssb.punjab.gov.in and click Apply Online.
- New users click Registration and fill in their details. Your email ID becomes your User ID.
- Log in with your email ID and password.
- Fill in personal and educational details carefully, including the correct category code.
- Upload a passport-size photo (or capture a live photo) and a scanned signature, then click Save Draft or Next.
- Click Attach Annexure and upload your 10th certificate, qualification certificates and other required documents in PDF format. Click Save Documents.
- Click Make Payment and pay the fee online.
- Click Submit and print the completed application form.
Note: A saved draft can be reopened from Menu > View Status of Application > View Incomplete Application. After submission, no corrections are allowed.
