PSTET 2025-26: Exam Structure

Note: A candidate intending to teach both levels (I-V and VI-VIII) must appear for and qualify both Paper I and Paper II.

PSTET 2025-26: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following minimum educational qualifications:

Minimum Educational Qualification for Paper I (Classes I-V):

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Minimum Educational Qualification for Paper II (Classes VI-VIII):

  • Graduation AND passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • OR Graduation with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  • OR Graduation with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Note: Relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks is available for SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled candidates as per Punjab Government rules.
