Selection Process for Driver
Selection to the post of Driver shall be made on the basis of performance in a Practical Test-cum-Interview. The High Court may adopt any suitable shortlisting criteria depending on the number of applications received, which will be communicated to candidates through a public notice. Mere selection through the Practical Test-cum-Interview does not confer any right to claim appointment.
Selected candidates will first be required to work on a trial period, remunerated as per daily-wager rates approved by the Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, and will be considered for appointment only after successful completion of this trial period.

Selection Process for Frash
Selection to the post of Frash is based on performance in an Interview of 50 marks, comprising 25 marks for Suitability to the Job and 25 marks for Etiquettes/Manners. Candidates equivalent to 4 times the advertised vacancies (category-wise), in order of Interview merit, will be called for a Physical Endurance Test (PET), which is qualifying in nature.

Sample qualifying parameters for the 800m Race (Male, 18–30 years): 270 seconds; (Female, 18–30 years): 290 seconds. Parameters become more relaxed with increasing age bracket up to 50 years and above. Candidates must clear all three PET events; failure in any event disqualifies the candidate from the subsequent event.
The final list of provisionally selected candidates (category-wise) will be prepared strictly on the basis of Interview merit, from among those who qualify the PET.
Punjab and Haryana High Court Recruitment 2026 General Instructions
- Candidates belonging to General or Reserved Category can submit only one application per category; if multiple applications are submitted, the latest one will be considered.
- Merely satisfying the eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for the Practical Test-cum-Interview (Driver) or Interview (Frash).
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the Test/Interview or for testimonials checking.
- Candidates working in Government/Semi-Government Departments, Corporations or Boards must submit a Forwarding Letter/No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Department at the time of testimonials checking.
- Candidates must submit an Affidavit regarding close relatives working in the High Court establishment or District Courts of Punjab, Haryana or U.T. Chandigarh.
- BC category candidates must furnish a declaration confirming exclusion from the “Creamy Layer,” along with a latest BC certificate.
- No man with more than one living wife, and no woman married to a man with a living wife, shall be eligible for appointment to either post.
- E-Admit Cards will be issued online only; candidates must ensure the photograph on the admit card matches the one uploaded during application, failing which entry to the test/interview venue will be denied.
- Original documents (Driving Licence for Driver post, Qualification/Caste/Experience Certificates, etc.) will be verified at the time of testimonials checking.
