When will the RRB Group D Fee Refund Start?

The refund process typically begins after the objection tracker window closes and the final results/merit lists are in progress.

The CBT exams ended on February 10, 2026, and the answer key was available until February 23. Following previous trends, the RRB is expected to initiate the refund process by late March or April 2026.

How the Refund Process Works

The RRB automates this process, but sometimes manual intervention is needed.

  • Automatic Credit: If your bank details provided during the application are correct and the account is active, the money is often credited directly.
  • Bank Account Update Link: If many transactions fail, RRB releases an “Account Update Link” on their official regional websites. This allows you to re-enter your Account Number and IFSC Code.
  • The “One Account” Rule: To prevent fraud, RRB typically allows only one refund per bank account. Warning: If you used a Cyber Cafe’s account to pay your fee, the refund might go to the cafe owner. In such cases, you must use the “Update Link” to provide your own savings account details.

Common Reasons for Refund Failure

Many 10th-pass students miss out on their refund due to simple errors. Ensure you avoid these:

  • Inactive Bank Account: If your account is closed or dormant, the transaction will bounce.
  • Incorrect IFSC Code: With recent bank mergers, many IFSC codes have changed. Ensure you provide the latest one.
  • Multiple Applications: If you submitted more than one application for the same CEN, your candidature might be cancelled, and no refund will be issued.

Official Advice for Candidates

  • Avoid Frauds: RRB never asks for your OTP or CVV for a refund. They only need your Account Number and IFSC.
  • Keep Documents Ready: Keep a copy of your CEN 08/2024 Application Form handy; it contains the bank details you originally submitted.
  • Check Regional Sites: Instead of following random social media links, check the official site of the RRB zone you applied to (e.g., rrbkolkata.gov.in).
