Educational Qualification
- Matriculation: The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination (or its equivalent under the 10+2 system) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- ITI: The candidate must possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the trade for which they are applying, issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
Note: Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for this recruitment as they are covered under a separate apprenticeship scheme.

RRC CR Apprentice 2026 Selection Process
The selection for engagement of Act Apprentices will be based purely on merit. No written exam or interview will be conducted.
Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared for each trade based on the simple average of the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (SSC) and ITI.
- Formula: (Matriculation % + ITI %) / 2
Calculation of Marks:
- For Matriculation, marks from all subjects will be considered.
- For ITI, the average marks mentioned in the consolidated statement for all semesters will be considered.
Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case two candidates have the same average marks:
- The candidate with the older age will be preferred.
- If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.
Final Selection: Candidates will be called for document verification based on their rank in the final, cluster-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise merit list.
Central Railway Apprentice Stipend
Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of one year. During this period, they will be paid a stipend as per the extant rules.
- Stipend: ₹ 9,600 per month (as per RBE No.116/2025 dated 11/11/2025).
- Accommodation: No hostel accommodation will be provided.
