The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has commenced the self slot selection process for the Computer Based Examination of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2025. The examination is scheduled to begin on 4th February 2026, and the window for slot selection is active from 16th January to 25th January 2026 on the official SSC candidate portal.
Through this process, candidates can choose their preferred examination city and block of dates for the exam. However, it is crucial to note that the facility to select a specific exam shift or timing is not available during this self-slot booking.
SSC MTS Self Slot Booking 2025-26 Begins
The Commission is organizing the SSC MTS and Havaldar CBT Examination 2025, with the testing window commencing on 4th February 2026. Candidates who have successfully submitted their applications must now log in to the SSC candidate portal to exercise their choice for the examination city and date block. The purpose of this initiative is to offer candidates some autonomy in planning their exam location.
However, unlike some other recruitment exams, SSC will not allow candidates to pick a specific morning or afternoon shift. The exact date and reporting time within the chosen block will be centrally assigned by the Commission and communicated later via the Admission Certificate.
SSC MTS Self Slot Selection 2025
Officials have activated the self slot selection module where candidates can finalize their preferred exam city and date block. It is important to highlight that the selection available is only for the city and a broad date block; shift timings are not part of the candidate’s choice.
Once the slot selection window closes on 25th January 2026, the Commission will process the preferences and conduct a “City Live” on 30th January 2026 to finalize allocations.

SSC MTS Slot Selection Process & Schedule
The Staff Selection Commission has opened the slot selection window, which will remain active for ten days. Candidates who fail to make a choice within this period can still confirm their willingness to appear via a Feedback Module until 28th January 2026. Failure to confirm through either channel will lead to the assumption that the candidate does not intend to appear, and their Admission Certificate will not be generated.
The final slot allocation, including the specific date and shift timing within the chosen block, will be done by SSC on a best-effort basis and will be final.

- Step 2: Choose your preferred Examination City from the list provided.
- Step 3 & 4: Verify the details and confirm the selection using an OTP.
- Step 5: A final confirmation page will be displayed. Save or print this for your records.

- Examination City & State: The preferred city for taking the exam.
- Examination Block: The preferred range of dates (e.g., Block 1, Block 2).
