Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Karnataka is inviting application from the eligible candidates for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) – 2018. Candidates who are willing to become Teachers for Classes I to VIII may appear for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET)- 2018. DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION, KARNATAKA INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR THE KARNATAKA TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (KARTET) – 2018. LAST DATE — 25/12/2018
1. PRIMARY STAGE (LPS TEACHERS) FOR CLASSES I-V (PAPER-I)
Educational Qualification: PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year or 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
B.A/ B.Sc Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
2. HIGHER PRIMARY STAGE FOR CLASSES VI- VIII (PAPER- II)
Educational Qualification: B.A/ B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
B.A/ B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of four year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of four year B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
OR
B.A/ B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Final year B.Ed. (Special Education).
3. ELEMENTARY STAGE FOR CLASSES I- VIII (PAPER- I AND II)
Educational Qualification: PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of four year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
B.A/ B.Sc Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Note:
i) Relaxation of up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification will be given to SC/ ST/ C-I/ PWD candidates.
ii) Diploma/ Degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. In case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
Candidates who are willing to become Teachers for Classes I to VIII may appear for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET)- 2018.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination consisting of Paper- I and Paper- II. Candidate who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V may appear for Paper- I examination and candidate who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII may appear for Paper- II examination. However, candidate who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear for both Paper- I and Paper- II. The examination will be held on 03/02/2019.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.700/- (Rs.350/- for SC/ST/CI only) for Paper- I or II (only) and Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST/CI only) for Paper- I & II as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card/ Net banking/ Cash. See released advertisement for more details.
NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF PWD CANDIDATES.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Karnataka — www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 05/12/2018 to 25/12/2018.
Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
