TIFR Tradesman Trainee Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants must ensure they fulfil the trade-specific eligibility criteria before appearing for the walk-in selection.

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Selection Process 2026

The selection for Tradesman Trainees will be based on a combination of ITI marks and a written test conducted on the day of the walk-in.

Written Test: A written test of 50 marks will be conducted on the day of the walk-in selection. The test will cover:

  • Technical Acumen in the relevant discipline.
  • Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Reasoning Abilities.
  • ITI syllabus.
  • Mathematical syllabus.

Final Merit Calculation:

  • 60% weightage to the aggregate marks obtained in the designated trade(s) of all semesters (ITI marks).
