UP CNET 2026: Overview

UP CNET 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the specific eligibility for their desired course before applying.

B.Sc. Nursing Eligibility

  • Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31, 2026.
  • Qualification: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
  • Minimum Marks: 45% for General (UR/OBC) and 40% for SC/ST in PCB. English is compulsory.
  • Domicile: For Government colleges, candidate must be a UP domicile or have passed 10th & 12th from UP.

M.Sc. Nursing / NPCC Eligibility

  • Qualification: Passed B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with 55% aggregate marks.
  • Registration: Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with a State Nursing Council.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of work experience (Clinical/Teaching) after Basic B.Sc. Nursing or before/after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. (For NPCC, clinical experience in a critical care setting is preferred).

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Eligibility

  • Qualification: Passed 10+2 (or 10+1 for pre-1986 batches).
  • Registration: Must have a GNM certificate and be registered as RN/RM.
  • Note: Male nurses trained before the integrated course must provide evidence of alternate training (e.g., OT Techniques, Psychiatric Nursing).

Reservation Policy

  • SC/ST/OBC: As per UP State Government norms.
  • PwD: 5% horizontal reservation for candidates with 40-50% locomotor disability of the lower extremity.
  • Important: Valid OBC/EWS certificates issued on or after April 1, 2026, are acceptable.
