UPSSSC PET Notification 2026 Out @upsssc.gov.in
UPSSSC has released the detailed notification for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2026 at upsssc.gov.in. As per the Uttar Pradesh Government Order No. 1103/47-Ka-3-2020-13/17/2020 dated 20th November 2020, read with Order No. 316/47-Ka-3-2025 dated 28th April 2025, a two-tier examination system has been adopted for recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts. Since 20th November 2020, selection to all Group ‘C’ posts falling within the Commission’s purview is carried out on the basis of this two-tier examination system, of which PET is the first tier.

UPSSSC One Time Registration (OTR) Requirement
UPSSSC has implemented a One Time Registration (O.T.R.) system for the convenience of candidates, effective from 14th July 2026. Once this system is in place, candidates do not need to repeatedly enter their basic information while applying against various advertisements published by the Commission from time to time. Details of this arrangement are available in the Commission’s Notification No. 45/17/Vigyapan Anu (Eleven)/2026/OTR/2026 dated 14 July 2026, already published on the official website.
Candidates are advised to thoroughly study the guidelines related to the O.T.R. Registration System on upsssc.gov.in before applying for PET-2026 and complete their O.T.R. registration accordingly. Only after completing O.T.R. registration can candidates apply online for PET-2026. The Commission will not accept applications through any offline mode under any circumstances.
Important O.T.R. Notes:
- Candidates must ensure all details entered in O.T.R. are error-free before applying for PET-2026.
- If candidates wish to amend their O.T.R. details, they must mandatorily do so before registering for PET-2026.
- For candidates who completed O.T.R. through their PET-2025 registration number, the name, date of birth and mobile number will remain non-editable; all other O.T.R. details can be amended.
- For candidates registering afresh under O.T.R., the mobile number will remain non-editable; all other details can be amended.
- Once a candidate obtains a PET-2026 registration number, no further amendment can be made to O.T.R. or the PET-2026 application form. No offline/online representation for correction will be entertained in this regard.
- The Commission will authenticate candidates’ Aadhaar details at various future stages of examination.
UPSSSC PET 2026: Mandatory Requirement
Participation in the Preliminary Eligibility Test is mandatory for all candidates interested in selection to various vacant posts under different departments falling within the jurisdiction of UPSSSC. As per Uttar Pradesh Government Order No. 316/47-Ka-3-2025 dated 28-04-2025, PET is to be conducted annually, marks obtained will remain valid for the next three years, and in case a candidate holds more than one valid PET score at the time of a particular advertisement, they will be given the facility to apply on the basis of their highest valid normalized score, with shortlisting also done accordingly.
It is clarified that merely applying for, participating in, or obtaining a result/score card of PET-2026 does not by itself entitle a candidate to be considered for selection against any specific post.

Candidates who meet the UPSSSC PET Eligibility Criteria can apply online through the official website upsssc.gov.in. Only the online application system is applicable; applications received through any other mode will not be accepted. Candidates need to apply only once under PET-2026.

How to Apply for UPSSSC PET 2026?
The online application process consists of four stages: Authentication → Registration → Fee Payment → Print Out. Candidates can complete their online application by following the steps below.
(a) Authentication through One Time Registration (O.T.R.): Candidates can log in for the application using their O.T.R. number or the mobile number registered against their O.T.R. After entering the O.T.R. number/registered mobile number, click the “Get OTP” button to receive an OTP. Enter the OTP and Verification Code and click the login button — the application form will be displayed, auto-populated with the details recorded in the O.T.R.
(b) Entry of Remaining Details in the Application: Candidates must fill in details regarding Intermediate qualification (if any), marital status, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) status, UP State employee status, dependent of freedom fighter, ex-servicemen/military personnel, outstanding sportsperson, category of disability, and details related to additional age relaxation, etc.
(c) Declaration: A declaration will be displayed at the bottom of the application form. Candidates should carefully read its contents; if they agree, they should select “Yes”, enter the Verification Code, and click “Submit”. Upon submission, a “Registration Slip” containing an 11-digit registration number will be displayed. Candidates should save this Registration Slip for future reference.
(d) Fee Payment/Adjustment and Submission of Application Form: After obtaining the registration number, candidates must click “Proceed for Payment” on the Registration Slip page to pay the prescribed examination fee. After payment, candidates should wait for confirmation without clicking any button repeatedly or refreshing/closing the browser. Upon successful payment confirmation, the application form becomes available for download and print, and the application process is complete only after downloading/printing the form.
- Fee can be paid via Credit Card/Debit Card/Internet Banking/UPI or SBI e-Challan. No other mode of payment is permitted.
- If the application form is not displayed even after successful fee payment, it means fee reconciliation is pending. In such cases, candidates should use “Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification Mode” under Applicant Segment on the homepage, log in with the PET-2026 registration number, and click “Verify Transaction ID”.
- If the fee payment fails, a Payment Acknowledgment Receipt (PAR) will be displayed instead of the application form. Candidates should follow the same “Update Your Transaction ID” process and then use the “Application Fee Deposition” option to pay the fee.
- For e-Challan payment, candidates must download the SBI e-Challan, pay at any SBI branch, and then update the transaction via Double Verification Mode.
Print Out of Application Form
Candidates must download/print their application form immediately after fee payment or fee adjustment, and in any case before the prescribed last date. Candidates may be required to submit a copy of this application form if demanded by the Commission. The application process is complete only after downloading/printing the application form.
UPSSSC PET 2026 Educational Qualification
Candidates who hold High School or an equivalent qualification are eligible to apply for the Preliminary Eligibility Test-2026. All candidates who have obtained High School or equivalent qualification before the last date of submission of the application form can apply for PET-2026.

UPSSSC PET 2026 Reservation
Vertical reservation (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class and Economically Weaker Section) and horizontal reservation (dependents of freedom fighters, ex-servicemen, Divyangjan and women) will be applicable as per the currently applicable Uttar Pradesh Government Act/Government Orders/Service Rules, in advertisements published by the Commission for Main Examinations.
