Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 23 posts of Project Scientists, Subject Matter Specialists, Project Fellows, Communication Specialist and Project Interns on contractual basis for the project ‘Development of Landscape Management Plan and Monitoring with reference to Ken-Betwa River Link Project in Panna Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh. Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (See PDF below) along with testimonials. WILDLIFE INSTITUTE OF INDIA (WII) IS INVITING APPLICATION FOR 23 POSTS OF PROJECT SCIENTISTS, SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALISTS, PROJECT FELLOWS, COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST AND PROJECT INTERNS. LAST DATE — 30/04/2018

 

  1. PROJECT SCIENTISTS – PTR101
    No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
    Educational Qualification: Ph.D. Degree in Wildlife Science/Life Sciences/ Geoinformatics/ Fisheries/ Environmental Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Economics, from a recognized university.
    Desirable: Experience/Expertise in the area of land-cover modeling and spatial statistics, landscape analyses and preparation of management plan, stream ecology and flow assessment, stake-holder analyses and consultations, socio-economic analyses, project coordination meetings/workshops and reporting.
    Age Limit: Maximum-34 years.
    Consolidated Pay: Rs 54,000/- per month.

 

  1. SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALISTS – PTR102
    No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos.
    Educational Qualification: Ph.D. Degree in Wildlife Science/ Forestry/ Life Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Economics from a recognized university and 10 years of experience in ecological/sociological assessment; or superannuated forest officer with forest/ wildlife management planning experiences/ community engagement.
    Preference will be given to the candidates who have experience in the landscape or in the specific subject areas.
    Desirable: Experience/expertise in terrestrial biodiversity assessment, aquatic biodiversity assessment, stakeholder consultation and management, human-wildlife interface issues, planning protect areas and conservation/community reserves, and policy formulations.
    Age Limit: No age limit.
    Consolidated Pay: Rs 60,000/- per month.

 

  1. PROJECT FELLOWS (OFFICE) – PTR103
    No. of Vacancies: 08 Nos.
    Educational Qualification: Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Agriculture/ Environmental Sciences/ Biological Sciences/ Veterinary Science/ Geography/ Geo-informatics/ Social Sciences/ Statistics/ Commerce/ from a recognized university.
    Desirable: Domain knowledge and one-year field experience in movement ecology of large carnivores, vulture and crocodiles and
    assessment of diversity/richness of flora, avifauna and insects. Hands-on experiences in Occupancy sampling; Camera
    trapping; Distance sampling; Vegetation quantification; Remote Sensing and GIS tools; Radio-telemetry; sampling in
    aquatic/steam system.
    Domain knowledge and one-year experience in Socio-economic survey for participatory management, ecosystem services and
    economic evaluation.
    Age Limit: Maximum-28 years.
    Consolidated Pay: Rs 28,000/- per month.

 

  1. COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST – PTR104
    No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
    Educational Qualification: Masters’ Degree in Visual Communication/ Mass Communication/ Geography/ Arts/ Civil Engineering/ Bioinformatics/ Geo-informatics/from a recognized university.
    Desirable: One-year experience in data processing and documentation, development of communication tools, cartography, 2D/3D visualization of field data, science communication and citizen science.
    Age Limit: Maximum-28 years.
    Consolidated Pay: Rs 28,000/- per month.

 

  1. PROJECT INTERNS – PTR105
    No. of Vacancies: 08 Nos.
    Educational Qualification: Graduate Degree in Life Science/ Botany/Zoology/Forestry/ Agriculture/ Environmental Sciences/ Biological Sciences/Veterinary Science/Geography/Geo-informatics/ Social Sciences/ Statistics/ Commerce/ from a recognized university.
    Desirable: Experience/interest in field sampling of terrestrial and aquatic system, and sociological attributes, telemetry, spatial analysis and stakeholder consultations/workshops.
    Age Limit: Maximum-28 years.
    Consolidated Pay: Rs 8,000/- per month.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Interview. Written Examination will be conducted at Dehradun on 14th, 15th and 16th May 2018. Interviews for the post of Subject Matter Specialists and Project Interns maybe conducted through Skype, based on pre-arrangement.

Candidates selected for the post will be on contractual basis for a period of one year and six months for Subject Matter Specialists posts for the project ‘Development of Landscape Management Plan and Monitoring with reference to Ken-Betwa River Link Project in Panna Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh
