Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Administration Branch, is inviting application for the Non-Teaching posts of 39 Stenographer and Junior Assistant-cum-Typist. Advertisement No. 3/Admn.I/2013. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online from the official website of the University. Qualification norms and brief details is given below —
1. Stenographer (Group-C posts)
Number of Vacancies: 5 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—1; SC—1)
Qualification: Senior Secondary (10+2) pass with shorthand speed 80 words per minute.
Candidates will have to qualify Stenography Skill test on computer at the speed of 80 wpm for 7 minutes. For transcription time—English shorthand dictation 55 minutes and for Hindi shorthand dictation 65 minutes and minimum qualifying marks will be 40 out of maximum marks of 100.
After Stenography test, qualified candidates will be called for Written Test and Interview.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 with Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-
2. Junior Assistant-cum-Typist (Group-C)
Number of Vacancies: 34 Nos. (Gen—16; OBC—9; SC—5; ST—3; PWD-OH—1)
Qualification: Senior Secondary (10+2) pass and with Typing Speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
Candidates will have to qualify Typing Test on Computer. Candidates who qualify the test will be called for Written Test and Interview.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 with Grade Pay: Rs.1900/-
The Written Test (applicable to both posts) will be in two papers. Paper-I will be General English and Paper-II will be General Knowledge. Qualifying marks will be 40% in each paper.
N.B: Knowledge of Computer Application is necessary for all posts.
Age Limit: maximum 35yrs. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST will be 5yrs, for OBC—3yrs and for PWD candidates—10yrs. See the below given PDF file for details.
Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for any one of the above must pay Application Fee of Rs.300/- in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of – “Finance Officer, JNU”, payable at New Delhi.
