West Bengal Police is recruiting 1000 boys/girls for the post of “Constable” from the districts of – West Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia and Darjeeling. Madhyamik pass ST boys/girls may apply for the post. Details given below—

Post: Constable
Qualification: Madhyamik Pass
Age: Within 18yrs to 32yrs as on 1-1-2011.
Physical Height & Weight: Height—160 cm, Chest (Expanded/unexpanded)—81/76cm. In case of female candidates height should be minimum 152 cm.
The vacant post is reserved for ST candidates and for the permanent residents of the above mentioned four districts only.

Vacancies according to district wise—
West Medinipur, Purulia and Bankura: 700 Nos.
Darjeeling: 300 Nos.

Pay scale: Rs.5400 – Rs.25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2600

Candidates’ Selection: Candidate will be selected by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. On basis of application physical measurement and physical ability test will be done. If qualified then will be called for Written test and Interview.
Physical Eligibility Test will be of—Race of 1600 Mtr. within 6 min 30 sec. In case of female- race of 400 Mtr. in 2 minutes.

Written Test will be of Objective Types Questions on the following topics— General Knowledge, General Awareness and Elementary Mathematics. If qualified in Written Test and then Interview of 10 marks will be taken by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
On basis of marks obtained in Physical Ability Test, Written Test and Interview, shortlist of candidates will be prepared and then finally Police Verification and Medical Examination.

How to apply: Apply on prescribed application format which can be collected from hand to hand from dated 10th January to 5th January from the above listed four districts’ S.P. Office, Police Station and Authority Offices. For collecting application form candidate should bring Qualification Certificate, Age proof Certificate and ST Certificate along with them.
Along with filled application enclosed the below listed documents —

  • Qualification and Age proof certificate (Self attested copy)
  • ST certificate (self attested copy)
  • Recent 2 Nos. color passport size photograph (4.5×3.5) (one copy pasted on application form and another copy should be attached with the form after writing form serial no. on the back of it)
  • For residential proof enclose self attested Xerox copy of Ration Card/ voter id card/ S.D.O. or B.D.O. issued residential certificate.

On the top of the envelope subscribe—“Application for the post of Police Constable (ST) 2011”. On the top left side of the envelope write your name and full address.

Last Date: Filled application form should reach within 10th February at the following address by post—“The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, Araksha Bhavan, Sector-II, Block-DJ, Salt Lake City, Kolkata- 700 091.
Application form can be also submitted by hand at the place from where form has been taken.
