Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is recruiting 112 candidates for the posts of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Steno) and Assistant Sub-Inspector/ Steno (LDC). 104 vacancies for Direct Candidates in the post of ASI (Steno) and 08 vacancies for ASI/Stenor (LDCE) for Departmental candidates. ASSISTANT SUB-INSPECTOR (STENO) FROM OPEN MARKET CANDIDATES
Number of Vacancies: 104 Nos. (Gen—24; OBC—46; SC—21; ST—18). Out of them 5 seats for Ex-servicemen.
Male: 94 n Nos.
Female: 10 Nos.

ASSITANT SUB-INSPECTOR/ STENO (LDCE) FOR DEPARTMENTAL CANDIDATES
Number of Vacancies: 8 Nos.  (Gen—5; OBC—2; SC—1; ST—0)

Educational Qualification for AST (Steno): Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent
Skill test norms on computer – 10 minutes @ 80 words per minute. Transcription time- 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.

Age Limit: Between 18 to 25 years as on 27.09.13. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST—5yrs; OBC—3yrs; Ex-servicemen and Others—as per norms.

Physical Standards:
Male candidates: Height—165cms (162.5cms for ST); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—77/ 82cms (76/81cms for ST).
Female Candidates: Height—155cms (150cms for ST); Chest—Not applicable.

Weight: – Corresponding to height and age as per medical standards (for males and females).

Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Candidates’ Selection:
Selection will be through Physical Standard Test, Written Examination, Skill test on computer and finally Medical Examination.
Written Examination: Objective type question paper to be answered on OMR sheet of 100 marks of 02 hours duration containing 100 questions on General Intelligence, General Studies/Elementary science, General English or Hindi and Arithmetic.

Skill test norms on computer: Shorthand Dictation will be of 10 minutes. For a dictation of 10 minutes there would be about 800 words @ 80 words per minute for transcription and subsequent typing. The time for transcription will be 50 minutes in English and 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.

Examination Fee:
The application fee will be Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty only) which is to be sent along with application through crossed non-refundable Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of the Officer to whom application should be sent by the candidates. See the below link for list of Addresses according State wise.

No fee is required in the case of SC, ST, Women and Ex-servicemen candidates.

How to Apply: Apply on prescribed application format along with Self-Attested copies of testimonials in support of —

  • Educational Qualification and Age proof
  • Caste certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC and PH certificate for PH candidates
  • IPO of Rs.50/-, as applicable
  • Three self addressed envelopes of 12 x 27 cms size. Out of these three self addressed envelopes, two envelop must be affixed with postal stamp of Rs. 22/- so that call up letter may be sent through registered post.
  • And any other relevant documents in support of eligibility.

Last Date of Application: The Application form must reach on or before 27th September, 2013 (04/10/2013 for candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu & Kashmir State, Lahaul-Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep)
The envelope should be super-scribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF_________”.
