West Bengal Public Service Commission for Labour Department is recruiting MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (LABORATORY), MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (X-RAY), MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (ECG), PHYSIOTHERAPIST, PHARMACIST and SOCIAL WORKER. Higher secondary and diploma course pass candidates may apply. Advt.No.20/2011. Details below—

1. MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (LABORATORY), GRADE – III: 30 Nos. (Gen-16, OBC-5, SC-7, ST-1, PH-1). Item No.01.
Qualification: Passed Higher Secondary Examination of the West  Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a two year Diploma Course in Laboratory Technology recognized  by the Government of West Bengal or one year Diploma Course in Laboratory Technology from any University/ Institution  recognized  by Government of West Bengal where basic qualification for undergoing the said Course is B.Sc.
Desirable : One year training after acquiring Diploma in Laboratory Technology recognized by the Government of West Bengal, in any Government Hospital or in a Clinical Establishment licensed under the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Rules, 2003.
Or  A Post-Graduate Diploma in Laboratory Technology from any recognized University.
AGE :   Not more than 37 years on 01.01.2011.
PAY SCALE :  Rs.7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,600/

2. MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (X-RAY), GRADE – III: 23 Nos. (Gen-10, OBC-5, SC-6, ST-1, PH-1). Item No.02.
Qualification: Passed Higher Secondary Examination of the West  Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a two year Diploma Course in Radiography (Diagnostics) DRD (Tech.) recognized by the Government of West Bengal.
Desirable :  One year training after acquiring Diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) DRD (Tech.) recognized by the Government of West Bengal, in any Government Hospital or in a Clinical Establishment licensed under the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Rules, 2003.
Or A Post-Graduate Diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) DRD (Tech.) from any recognized University.
AGE :   Not more than 37 years on 01.01.2011.
PAY SCALE :  Rs.7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,600/-.

3. MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (ECG), GRADE – III: 25 Nos. (Gen-11, OBC-6, SC-6, ST-1, PH-1). Item No.03.
Qualification: Passed Higher Secondary Examination of the West  Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a two year Diploma in ECG Technology recognized by the Government of West Bengal.
Desirable :  One year training after acquiring Diploma in ECG  Technology recognized by the Government of West Bengal, in any Government Hospital or in a Clinical Establishment licensed under the West Bengal Clinical Establishment Rules, 2003.
Or  A Post-Graduate Diploma in ECG Technology from any recognized University.
AGE:   Not more than 37 years on 01.01.2011
PAY SCALE:   Rs.7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,600/-.

4. PHYSIOTHERAPIST, GRADE – III: 11 Nos. (Gen-6, OBC-2, SC-3). Item No.04
Qualification: Essential : Passed Higher Secondary Examination of the West  Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent from any recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics  and a two year Diploma course in Physiotherapy recognized by the Government of West Bengal.
Desirable :  Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy Course recognized by the Government of West Bengal.
AGE:   Not more than 37 years on 01.01.2011.
PAY SCALE:   Rs.7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,600/-.

5. PHARMACIST, GRADE – III / PHARMACIST-CUM-SALESMAN, GRADE – III: 64 Nos. (Gen-31, OBC-11, SC-14, ST-4, PH-4). Item No.05.
Qualification: Passed Higher Secondary Examination of the West  Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology and a two year Diploma Course in Pharmacy recognized by the Government of West Bengal and registered as ‘A’ category Pharmacist under West Bengal Pharmacy Council.
AGE :  Not more than 37 years on 01.01.2011.
PAY  SCALE:  Rs.7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,600/.

6. SOCIAL WORKER, GRADE – III: 20 Nos. (Gen-9, OBC-4, SC-5, ST-1, PH-1). Item No.06.
Qualification: B.A. or B.Sc. and Diploma in Social Welfare and Health Education from a Government recognized Institute.
Or  Degree in Social Welfare and Health Education.
AGE:   Not more than 37 years on 01.01.2011
PAY SCALE:   Rs.7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,600/

Candidates’ Selection: Candidates will be selected through West Bengal Public Service Commission through Written Test and Interview.
N.B.:  ABILITY  TO  READ, WRITE  AND SPEAK IN BENGALI  IS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION  FOR RECRUITMENT  TO  ALL  POSTS AND SERVICES MENTIONED BELOW. PROVIDED THAT THE SAID COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT OF KNOWLEDGE IN BENGALI IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR  NEPALI SPEAKING CANDIDATES FROM THE HILL AREAS OF THE DISTRICT OF DARJEELING.  THIS WILL BE TESTED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW

Along with filled application enclose the following documents—

  • One copy recent passport size photograph pasted on the application form and sign on it.
  • 2 Nos. Self-Address envelope (Write father’s name also) without any postal stamp.
  • Self Attested copies of Educational and Age proof documents.
  • Self- attested copies of Caste Certificate or PH certificate issued by doctor.
  • Crossed Postal Order of Rs. 160 in favour of—“The Secretary, Public Service Commission”, and payable at- “G.P.O. Kolkata”. SC/ST and PH (above 40% disability) candidates requires no fee.

On the top of the envelope subscribe—“(i) Advertisement No.20/2011, (ii) Item No…… (iii) Name of the post applied for…….”.

Last Date: Application should reach within 25th January 2012 by Registry Post/ Speed Post or Under Certificate of Posting at the following address—“The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, 161A, S.P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata—700 026”.

  1. I AM BENGALI BUT I LIVED IN HARYANA AND I COMPLETED MY STUDY FROM NURSERY TO GRADUTATION IN HARYANA. BUT WHY I WONT BE ABLE TO APPLY FROM BENGAL RECRUITEMENT

    .how much salary? Please salary statement sent to me for rectification of my salary.
