Sikkim Police, Gangtok, is recruiting 18 boys and girls for the post of “Constable”. Application is to be made in prescribed format which can be collected from the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Communication & Computers, Police HQ, Gangtok. N.B: if sufficient female candidates are not available for the post then such post will be filled by male candidates.
Qualification and Eligibility: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass with subjects—Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
Age limit: should be between 18yrs to 22 yrs as on dated 1/5/2012. Age relaxation—for BL/ST/SC: 5yrs; for MBC- 4yrs; for OBC-3yrs and rest of others—as per norms.
Physical Standard:—
Height: 5 ft 3 inches (for Male) and 5 ft (for female)
Chest (for male): 32 inches with ability to expand by 2 inches.
Weight: Min 50 Kgs (for male) and min 45 kgs (for female)
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and grade pay of Rs.2400 per month plus other allowances as per rules in Sikkim Police.
Selection Steps: Candidates will be selected through — (i) Physical Measurement, (ii) Written Examination, (iii) Physical Efficiency Test/ Endurance Test and (iv) Viva-voce.
Written Examination will be on Physics, chemistry, Mathematics, English and General knowledge.
Written Examination will be held on 9th June 2012 at Tashi Namgyal Academy.

How to Apply: Candidates are required to collect the prescribed Application form from the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Communications & Computers, Police Headquarters, Gangtok, during office hours till last date of application. Candidates will have to produce Bank (SBS) Receipt for Rs.50 under revenue head 0055- Police-800 other receipts.
Candidates should fill the application form in own handwriting and then can submit the Application form at the same place from where it has been collected. Candidates who are employed in Govt. services should attach No Objection Certificate along with application form.
During appointment the candidates should produce the following documents in original without which will lead cancellation — (a) Sikkim Subject/COI, (b) Valid local employment card, (c) ST/SC/MBC/OBC Certificate, (d) Educational qualification certificate/mark sheet, (e) Birth certificate, (f) NOC from Head of Department in case of Govt. servant.
