Border Security Force (BSF) is recruiting 90 Constable (General Duty) against Sports Quota. Eligible and interested Meritorious Sportsperson may apply for the vacancies in prescribed application format within below scheduled date. Qualification norms and eligibility criteria is given below.

- Archery: 5 Nos.
- Atheletic: 15 Nos.
- Swimming, Water Polo & Diving: 9 Nos.
- Boxing: 2 Nos.
- Gymnastics: 5 Nos.
- Judo: 3 Nos.
- Rowing, Kayaking & Canoeing: 5 Nos.
- Weightlifting: 5 Nos.
- Wresting (Free style & Greeco Roman): 6 Nos.
- Equestrian: 2 Nos.
- Shooting: 5 Nos.
- Basketball: 5 Nos.
- Football: 4 Nos.
- Handball: 5 Nos.
- Hockey: 5 Nos.
- Kabaddi: 5 Nos.
- Volleyball: 4 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or Class 10 pass from recognized board.
Sports Qualification: Candidates must have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition in any one of the games/sports mentioned in the above list OR candidates must have represented their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of the above mentioned sports OR Candidates who have represented State Schools Team in National Sports/ Games for Schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the above mentioned games/ sports.
Physical Standards —
Height: 170 cms (162.5 cms for ST).
Chest (Unexpanded/ expanded): 80cms/ 85cms (76cm/ 81cms for ST)
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
For cut-off in physical standards in case of candidates from Hill areas and Candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Laddakh regions of J&K, please refer the advt. link given below.
Eye sight: Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without correction and should be free from color blindness.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Age Limit: Between 18yrs to 23yrs as on 01-08-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST—5yrs; OBC—3yrs and others—as per norms.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/- plus other allowances as per norms.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible Meritorious Sportsperson may send their application in the prescribed application format duly typed or neatly hand written (see the below link for Application form) in fulscape paper with two attested passport size photograph (one on the form and other pasted on the Admit card).
Candidates must also enclosed attested copies of testimonials in support of eligibility, such as , Qualification certificate, Sports certificate, Age proof, Caste certificate and any other relevant documents.
Enclose 2 Nos. Self-addressed envelopes (23×10 cms) duly affixed with postal stamp of Rs.5/-
Application Fee: Candidates must also enclose Demand Draft or Indian Postal Order/ Banker’s Cheque of Rs.50/– only as Application Fee drawn in favour of – The commandant 25 Bn BSF.
SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
Selection of the candidates will be through Physical Measurement Test, Documents/ Testimonials verification, Physical Efficiency Test, Trial in respective sports and Medical Examination. (See the Advt. link below for details)
There will be no written test. Admit card will be sent to the eligible candidates in due course. Exact date and venue will be intimated through Admit card.
