Alipore Ordnance Depot- Clerk & Mazdoors. For H.S and M.P. candidates. Last Dt.01/06/2012 (UPDATED)

Alipore Ordnance Depot, Kolkata, Under Ministry of Defence, is recruiting 39 persons for the post of Fireman, Storekeeper, Lower Division Clerk, Carpenter/ Jointer, Messenger and Mazdoor. Higher Secondary and Madhyamik pass candidates may apply. Prepare application form on plain paper as per application format given below. Brief details below—

Vacancies: 02 Nos. (Gen-1; OBC-1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and ability to perform strenuous duties.
Physical ability and Test: —
Height: 165cms (162.5 for ST)
Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 81.5cms/ 85cms
Weigth: Minimum 50 Kgs.
Endurance Test—(i) Carrying a weight of 63.5 kg to distance of 183 mtrs within 96 seconds., (ii) Long jump of 2.7 mtrs wide ditch on both feet and (iii) Climbing of 3 mrs rope.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grad pay—Rs.1900
Note: For this post only; the age of the candidates will be counted as on dated 2nd July 2011.

Vacancies: 1nos. (SC)
Qualification: Higher Secondary (class-12) pass.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200- Rs.20200 and Grade pay- Rs.1900

3. Lower Division Clerk — Serial No.C
Vacancies: 5 Nos. (Gen-3; OBC-1; ST-1)
Qualification: Higher Secondary pass candidates with ability to type 35 words per minute in English may apply for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grad pay—Rs.1900

4. Fireman—Serial No.D
Vacancies: 1 Nos.
Qualification, Physical Standard and Endurance Test: Same as above mentioned post of Fireman Serial No—A

5. Carpenter/ Jointer—Serial No.E
Vacancies: 2 Nos. (SC-1; OBC-1)
Qualification: Madhyamik Pass. Trade certificate from I.T.I. of 3 years training or experience in relevant work.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grad pay—Rs.1900

6. Mazdoor—Serial No.F
Vacancies: 26 Nos. (Gen-4; OBC-10; SC-11; ST-1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass candidates may apply.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay—Rs.1800

7. Messenger—Serial No.G
Vacancies: 2 Nos. (SC-1; OBC-1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass candidates may apply.

Age limit: or all the above mentioned posts candidates should be between 18yrs to 25yrs as on 1/6/2012, except for the post of Fireman—Serial No.A.  The post of Fireman—serial No.A will be counted as on 2/7/2011.
Age relaxation—OBC-5yrs; SC/ST- 5yrs, PH- 10yrs and Others- as per norms.

Selection steps: Candidates will be selected through Written test and Trade Test/ Endurance Test/ Interview as per applicable for the post candidates applied for. Date and venue of Interview will be informed later through call letters to the candidates.
For the post of Clerk, the test will be on followings— (i) General Intelligence, (ii) English Language, (iii) Numerical Aptitude and (iv) General Awareness. If qualified then will have to go for ‘Typing Test’.
For rest of other posts except Clerk, Objective type of papers will be on— (i) General Intelligence and Reasoning (25 questions of 25 marks), (ii) Numerical Aptitude (25 questions of 25 marks), (iii) General English (50 questions of 50 marks) and (iv) General Awareness (50 questions of 50 marks). There will be negative marking for wrong answers.
Beginning first two years will be on probation.

How to Apply: Apply on plain paper by neatly typing the application form as given of format below. Along with application form enclosed the following documents in attested copies (attestation done by Gazetted officer)—

• One Self-Addressed envelope (25×10 cms) with affixed postal stamp of Rs.25 on it.
• Attested copies of Age, Qualification and Caste Certificate
• Attested copy of Character Certificate issued by Gazetted Officer
• Attested copy of Residential Certificate issued by Gazetted Officer
• Recent two Nos. passport size photograph attested by Gazetted Officer (paste one on Application form and other on Acknowledgement Slip)
• Any other relevant documents, if any
