Eastern Railway— Howrah Division and Liluah Workshop is Recruiting 430 persons as “Apprentice”. Madhyamik Pass with minimum 50% marks and may have passed Trade Certificate Course in any one of the below given Trades from N.C.V.T. approved I.T.I. may apply for the post in either Howrah Division or Liluah Workshop. Vacant Post in Liluah Workshop: 350 Nos. Among them 11 posts is reserved for PH candidates and 10 posts for Ex-Serviceman. Vacancies is in Trade wise as given below.
Training in Liluah Workshop will be on following Trades—
1. Fitter: 213 Nos. (Gen-107; OBC-57; SC-32; ST-17)
2. Machinist: 6 Nos. (Gen-3; OBC-2; SC-1)
3. Turner: 3 Nos. (Gen-2; OBC-1)
4. Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance: 18 Nos. (Gen-9; OBC-5; SC-3; ST-1)
5. Welder (G & E): 29 Nos. (Gen-15; OBC-8; SC-4; ST-2)
6. Painter General: 58 Nos. (Gen-29; OBC-16; SC-9; ST-4)
7. Electrician: 23 Nos. (Gen-12; OBC-6; SC-3; ST-2)
Vacant Posts in Howrah Division: 80 Nos. Out of them 2 seats is reserved for Ex-Serviceman.
Training in Howrah Division will be on following trades—
1. Fitter: 27 Nos. (Gen-12; OBC-7; SC-5; ST-1; PH-1)
2. Welder: 8 Nos. (Gen-5; OBC-2; SC-1)
3. Mechanic (Motor Vehicle): 1 Nos. (Gen)
4. Mechanic (Diesel): 3 Nos. (Gen-2; OBC-1)
5. Blacksmith: 1 Nos. (Gen)
6. Machinist: 2 Nos. (Gen)
7. Painter (General): 2 Nos. (Gen)
8. Carpenter: 1 Nos. (Gen)
9. Lineman: 3 Nos. (Gen-2; OBC-1)
10. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic: 1 Nos. (Gen)
11. Wire man: 1 Nos. (Gen)
12. Electrician: 28 Nos. (Gen-14; OBC-7; SC-4; ST-2; PH-1)
13. Mechanic (Machine Tool Maintenance): 2 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Candidates should be Madhyamik Pass with minimum 50% total marks and may have done Trade Certificate Course from N.C.V.T. recognised I.T.I. on any above mentioned trades may only apply.
Age Limit: Candidates should be within 15 yrs to 24yrs as on 1-7-2011. Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates- 5yrs; OBC candidates- 3yrs; PH candidates- 10yrs and Ex-Serviceman- as per govt. norms and rules.
Training period will be of one or two years and during training period, stipend will be given. After completion of Training; job may be given but not compulsorily.
Selection Steps: On basis of marks obtained in Madhyamik level exam and Trade Course exam candidates will be called for Physical Ability Test. There will be no Written Test and Interview. Higher qualification in any candidates will be unseen.
How to Apply: Application can be neatly typed as per given format on plain A4 size paper and then fill it with own handwriting with ball pen. Application form and call letter should be prepared on separate sheet. Along with application; enclosed the following documents in Attested copies (All documents should be enclosed in 2 Nos. attested copies)—
- Marksheet and Certificate of Madhyamik
- I.T.I. Certificate
- Madhyamik certificate for Age verification
- Caste certificate for SC/ST and OBC
- Discharge certificate for Ex-Serviceman
- Required certificate for PH candidates
- 2 self address envelopes (11×5 cm) with postal stamp of Rs.5 on each
- 2 recent Black & White passport size photograph with self sign on it and then Attestation from Gazetted Officer (One copy pasted on application form and other copy on Call Letter)
- Crossed Postal Order of Rs.40 in favour of—“F.A. & C.A.O., Eastern Railway, Kolkata” and write payable at—“G.P.O./Kolkata”. No fee required for SC/ST and PH candidates.
On the top of the application containing envelope, super scribe—“ ‘Application for Liluah Workshop’ OR ‘Application for Howrah Division’ against Notice No. 01/2011/LLH for engagement of Act Apprentices”
Last Date to Apply: Application should reach within 18th November 2011 at the following address—“The Workshop Personnel Officer, Eastern Railway, Liluah, Howrah- 711204”.
Application should reach by Ordinary Post only. Filled application can be also submitted directly by throwing it in the box provided during office hours of Liluah Carriage and Wagon Workshop.
