Recruitment of 285 Head Constable (Ministerial) and Assistant Sub- Inspector (Stenographer) in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

Under Ministry of Home Affairs—Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is recruiting 285 Boys/Girls for the post of Head Constable (Ministerial) and Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer). Higher Secondary (10+2) pass candidates can apply for any one of the post.

1. Name of the Post: Head Constable (Ministerial), Post Code No.09
Vacant no. of post: 214 (Gen-96, OBC-58, SC-33, ST-27)
Qualification: Candidates who have done Higher Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board or its equivalent can apply for the post. Candidates who have passed Madhyamik (Class-10) and have done 3 years Diploma in Secretarial Practice/ Modern Office Practice/ Commercial Practice from a recognized Board of Technical Education can also apply for the post.
Candidates should have a minimum speed of typing 30 words per minute (25 words for SC/ST) in English and 25 words per minute (20 for SC/ST) in Hindi and candidates should have basic knowledge in Computer Application such as MS-Office/Word/Excel and etc.

2. Name of the Post: Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer), Post Code No.:08
Posts: 71 (Gen-30, OBC-21, SC-11, ST-09)
Qualification: Educational qualification is same as on above post. As other qualification—candidates should have speed of 80 words (70 for SC/ST) per minutes in English and 60 words (50 for SC/ST) per minute in Hindi Stenography and in English Typing- 40 words per minute (30 for SC/ST), in Hindi typing-30 words per minute (20 for SC/ST).

Age for both of the above post: For both of the above posts, age should be between 18 yrs to 25 yrs as on 15.06.2011

Physical Standard for both Posts: For Male—height: 167.5 cms (162.5 cms for ST/Adivasis and 165 cms for Sikkimesse, Gorkhas and the resident of North Eastern States).
For Female—height: 157 cms (152.5 cms for ST/Adivasis and 155 cms for Sikkimesse, Gorkhas and resident of North Eastern States)
Chest (for Male—unexpanded/expanded): 81/86. Adivasis and ST will receive cut-off of 3 cms in Chest.
Body weight should be proportionate to height and age. Distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 in both eyes without wearing glass.

Selection Steps: Selection will be held in 2 phases—(1) Documentation, Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), (2) Written Test, Short Hand Speed and Typing Speed for the post of ASI/ Typing speed test for HC, Test of Basic Knowledge in Computer Application, Interview and Medical Examination.

In Physical Efficiency Test, there will be (I) Race of 800 mtrs in 3 minutes and 4 minutes for female, (II) Long Jump of 11 feet (8 feet for female) and High Jump of 3.6 feet (3 ft for female)

The Written Test will be consisting of Objective Multiple Choices Types Questions. There will be Interview of 25 marks. The test will be held at Chennai, Pune, Bhopal and Sapri.

• 2 nos. attested copies of recent passport size photo pasted on application form and Admit card
• 2 nos. self addressed envelope with postal stamp of Rs.5 on each
• Attested copy of Matriculation Certificate for Age proof
• Attested copy of Education certificate
• Attested copy of Caste certificate in case of OBC, SC/ST and discharge certificate in case of Ex-Serviceman
• Crossed Indian Postal Order/ Bank Draft of Rs.50 (No fee required for SC/ST and Ex-serviceman candidates). In case of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Steno), the draft should be in favour of: Commandant, CSD&W, SSB, Bhopal (M.P.) and Payable at: SBI Bhopal. In case of Head Constable (Ministerial) it should be in favour of: The Commandant, TC (SSB), Sapri, and payable at- SBI Dehra-1070. The candidates should write their name and address on the back side of the draft.

Last date to Apply: Application should reach through Ordinary Post only within dated: 15.06.2011 (22.06.2011 for the residents of North Eastern States and Andaman & Nicobar Island)
