Life Insurance Corporation of India is recruiting 375 Assistant Administrative Officers.

Name of Post: Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalists/Chartered Accountants/Company Secretary/Legal)
Total No. of Posts: 375 (GEN-189; SC-63; ST-28; OBC-95). Out of 375; 19 for PH.

Details for the required Qualification, Age limit and etc for the Posts were given below:
1. Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalists)
No. of Post: 250
Qualification: Bachelor/Master’s Degree from a recognized Indian University under UGC with a minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate in either of the Degrees (45% in case of SC/ST). If any University awards grades instead of marks, applicant should clearly mention the numerical equivalent of the grades in terms of aggregate marks and then write _% scored out of aggregate marks.

2. Assistant Administrative Officer (Chartered Accountant)
No. of Post: 100
Qualification: An Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

3. Assistant Administrative Officer (legal)
No. of Post: 20
Qualification: LL.B with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and min three years experience at the Bar.

4. Assistant Administrative Officer (Company Secretary)
No. of Post: 5
Qualification: A member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)

Age Limit for all the above Posts: 21- 30 yrs on 1.11.2010 (OBC: 33yrs; SC/ST: 35yrs; PH (GEN): 40; PH(SC/ST): 45yrs; PH(OBC): 43yrs)

Pay Scale: Rs-17240- 32640 + other admissible allowance as per rules.

Selection Procedure for Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalist):
A competitive examination will be held at centre (chosen by applicant during form fill-up) on dated: 27.02.2010. Selection will be on basis of overall performance in the Written Test and Interview. Further, the appointment of candidates will be subject to his/her being found medically fit in the pre-recruitment medical examination. If any changes on the above mentioned exam’s date were made; candidates will be informed.

Written Test:
(a) Paper 1- Objective Types (Reasoning Ability, Numeric Ability, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language with special emphasis on grammar and vocabulary.)
Duration: 2 hours of 140 marks

(b) Paper 2- Descriptive Types (Test on Essay, Precise & Comprehension in English). Paper 2 is of qualifying nature and the marks obtained in this paper will not be counted for ranking. The paper 2 of only those candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in each part of paper 1 will be assessed.
Duration: 1 hour of 50 marks.

Selection Procedure for Assistant Administrative Officer (Chartered Accountant, Legal & Company Secretary):
Selection will be based on the performance in the interview and fitness in pre-recruitment medical examination. The numbers of candidates to be called for interview will about three times the number of vacancies to be filled in under each post.

Probation: One year, extendable upto 2 years

How to Apply:
To apply for any one of the above mentioned post; can be done through Online by visiting the Official website of the LIC. Before filling the application form Online, the candidates should deposit application fee.
Application fee of Rs. 400 should be deposited in cash during cash collection hours at any Cash Collection Centre of LIC Offices. (N.B: Demand Draft/Cheques are not acceptable).
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Physically Handicapped candidates are not required to pay any fee.

On payment of Application Fee, candidates will be issued a Miscellaneous Receipt containing details- Transaction no., Transaction date, Branch code and etc. Candidates should have to give these details in proper place during filling the Online application form.

Important notes to Candidates applying for the above mentioned Posts.

  1. Candidates should have a valid e-mail ID, if any candidates do not have email ID, can create a new one by visiting Yahoo or Google’s website.
  2. Candidates applying more than one post are required to apply online for each post separately and also pay fee separately for each post.
  3. After submitting the online form, a copy of application form will be send to the candidates’ email ID. Candidates should make print out of this system generated application on A4 size paper and retain it after signing the same. Do not send this application to anywhere by post.
  4. On successful submit of Online application form, candidates will be given a Unique Application Registration No. which has to be quoted for all future reference pertaining to this recruitment.
  5. Candidates who called for interview will have to submit the duly signed system generated printed of the Online Application, Copy of the call letter duly signed by the Invigilator during the examination, Receipt of application fee and all attested Copies of relevant certificates should be produced at the time of interview.
  6. Candidates who have applied for AAO Generalists will have to visit the website of LIC for downloading the Call Letter which will be available from dated: 7.02.2011. Candidates should make printout of this call letter and make two copies. On each copies- recent passport size photograph should be affixed and get it attested by the Gazetted Officer. The Invigilator at the exam centre shall sign both the copies of the call letter and keep one with him and the other copy will be retained by the candidates for further preference.
  7. Submission of application form can be made through Online process only. There is no any other means/mode of submitting of application is available.

  • Opening/Closing Date of acceptance of application fee at Cash Collection Centres of LIC: 22.11.2010 to 13.12.2010
  • Opening/Closing Date of Online form submission: 22.11.2010 to 14.12.2010
  • Modification of Submitted Application form (If desired) can be done (Once): 15th and 16th Dec.
  • Downloading of Hall Tickets/Call Letters from website of LIC: 7.02.2011
