Border Security Force (BSF) is recruiting 26 Boys and Girls for the post of “Assistant Commandant (Works)” and “Assistant Commandant (Elect)” on Contractual basis which may later is likely to become permanent one. Qualification and other details were given below—
Assistant Commandant (Works): 19 Nos. (Gen-12, OBC-5, SC-1, ST-1)
Qualification: Candidates with Civil Engineering Degree course may apply for the post.
Assistant Commandant (Electrical): 7 Nos. (Gen-5, OBC-1, SC-1)
Qualification: Candidates with Electrical Engineering Degree Course may apply for the post.
Age of the candidates should be between 21yrs to 26 yrs as on 29-11-2011. Age relaxation is as follows—SC/ST-5yrs, OBC-3yrs
Physical Height and Weight Measurement: Height of Male candidates should be minimum 165cm and Female candidates- 157cm. Chest for male candidates only (Expanded/unexpanded): 86cm/81cm and Body weight should be minimum 50 Kg.
Required Eye Sight: For distance should be 6/6 and 6/12 or 6/9 with both eyes. For nearby—J-I with good eye and J-II with bad eye.
Candidates should be well built without any defect such as, broken knees, flat foot and etc.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600 to 39100 and Grade Pay- Rs.5400.
On basis of Application, call letters will be dispatched to the candidates. There will be Written Test on 2 papers. First paper will be of 200 marks of 2 hours. Questions will be Objective Types on following topics—(i) General English (40 marks), (II) General Studies (40 marks) and (III) Civil/Electrical Engineering (120 marks).
Second paper will of 100 marks of Descriptive Types questions on Civil/Electrical Engineering.
After Written Test there will be Physical Measurement Test and Physical Ability Test.
Physical Ability Test (In case of Male) there will be Race of 1 mile within 12 minutes, Broad Jump of 4.5 feet, 6 ft ditch hoping and 7 ft Jump. In case of Female candidates—1 mile race within 16 minutes, Broad Jump of 3 ft, 4 ft Ditch hoping and 6 ft. Jump.
If selected then will be called for Interview and then finally there will be Medical Examination of the candidates.
How to Apply: Application can be prepared on plain paper as per given format. Along with application enclosed the following documents—
- Attested copies of all Educational Certificate and Madhyamik pass Certificate and Marksheet for Age proof.
- Recent 3 Nos. passport size photograph attested by Gazetted Officer (one copy paste on Application form, second copy paste on Admit Card and Third copy should be enclosed with the form)
- To avail the cut-off in Height and Weight measurement candidate should enclose the attested copy of Domicile Certificate issued by Sub-Divisional level Revenue Officer or its equivalent rank.
- 2 Nos. self address envelope with affix postal stamp of Rs.27 on each.
- Attested copies of Discharge Certificate, in case of Ex-Serviceman.
- Crossed Bank Draft of Rs.100 in favour of – “The Inspector General, Ftr HQ BSF, North Bengal, PO- Kadamtala (Siliguri), Dist-Darjeeling, West Bengal—734433”. No fee required for SC/ST candidates
On the top of the application containing envelope, super scribe—“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT COMMANDANT (WORKS/ ELECTRICAL) IN BSF”.
