Indian Coast Guard, under Ministry of Defence, is recruiting Unmarried males and females in the rank of Assistant  Commandant – Group A, Gazetted Officer in branch of General Duty (Pilot, Navigator/ Observer), Technical branch (Mechanical/ Aeronautical/ Electrical). Batch – 01/2013, Training commencing – Jan 2013. Brief details is given below—

Group- A Gazetted Officer in the rank of Assistant Commandant.
Branch and eligibility given below—
(a) General Duty (for Men)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks in aggregate and must have acquired 60% marks aggregate in 12th standard in subject Physics and Maths.
Age: date of birth should be between 1/7/1988 to 30/6/1992

(b) General Duty—(i) Pilot, (ii) Navigator/ Observer (for Men)
Qualification: B.Sc with Maths & Physics with 60% marks in aggregate and must have acquired 60% marks aggregate in 12th standard in subject Physics and Maths.
Age: Date of birth should be between 1/7/1986 to 30/6/1994

(c) Technical Branch (Mechanical/ Aeronautical/ Electrical) (For Men)
Qualification: Degree with 60% marks in aggregate in Naval architecture / Mechanical/ Marine/Design/ Production /Aeronautical/ Automotive / Industrial and Production/ Aeronautical/ Instrumentation and Control/ Electrical/ Electronics and Tele Communication in any of the above discipline
And 60% marks in Physics and Maths in 12th class or three year diploma course OR should have passed sections A and B of Institute of Engineers (India) examination in any of the discipline listed above with 60% marks.
Age: Date of birth should be 1/7/1983 to 30/6/1992

Short Service Appointment as Assistant Commandant for period of 8yrs and may extended to 10yrs and then 14yrs. The branch were—

(d) Pilots (Helicopter and fixed wing Commercial Pilot License holders) (For Men and Women)
Qualification: 12th class pass with 60% marks and should possess current / valid Commercial Pilot license (CPL) approved by DGCA on the date of registration
Age: DOB should be between 1/7/1986 to 30/7/1994

(e) General Duty (For Women)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate and must have acquired 60% marks aggregate in 12th standard in subject Physics and Maths.
Age: DOB should be between 1/7/1986 to 30/6/1992

Age relaxation— age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and others is as per norms and rules.

Pay Scale: Rs. 15600— Rs.39100 and Grade pay— Rs.5400.

Physical StandardsHeight of the candidates should be as prescribed below—
(i) Asst Commandant (GD) and Technical: 157 cms minimum. Cut-off for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be as per norms.
(ii) Asst Commandant General duty (Women) : 152 cms.
(iii) Asst Commandant (Pilot) and Asst Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders for Short Service Appointment (M/F): Min 162.5 cms. and maximum 197 cms, leg length 99 cms.
Chest (for all): Proportional and ability to expand by 5 cms.
Weight: Proportionate to Height and Weight as per medical standard

After submitting the application form; a system generated Acknowledgement Slip with Registration No. will appear on the screen. Print-out the Acknowledgement slip in 2 copies.
There is no need to send any documents by posts. One copy of the Acknowledgement slip should be enclosed with all necessary documents and testimonials to produce at the examination centre during examination. The other copy of the slip should be retained safely by the candidates for record.

Candidates will be selected through Preliminary Selection Examination, Final Selection Exam and finally Medical examination. PABT test for General Duty (Pilot) will be there. Preliminary Selection Exam will hold at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and UP. Shortlisted candidates will be inform the exact date and time scheduled for examination.
