Food Corporation of India, for the Eastern Zone, Northern Zone, Southern Zone, Western zone and North-Eastern Zone, is recruiting 3598 boys and girls for the post of – “Assistant Grade-III (General)”, “Assistant Grade-III (Accounts)”, “Assistant Grade-III (Technical)” and “Assistant Grade-III (Depot)”. Graduate candidate may apply –

1. Assistant Grade-III (General): Postcode- A.
Vacancies according to zone/region
For Eastern region – 90 nos. (General-50, OBC-17, SC-16, ST-07) among them PH-03 and ex-serviceman-09
For Northern region – 242 nos. (General-135, OBC-59, SC-38, ST-10) among them ex-serviceman-24 and PH candidates-07

Required Qualification: Graduate pass boys and girls in any discipline may apply for the post. Candidates should have ability to work in computer.

3. Assistant Grade-III (Technical): postcode- C.

Required Qualification: Candidates with B.Sc in – Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Food Science may apply for the post.
B.sc in Agriculture done boys and girls may also apply. Degree course (B.E. or B.Tech) in – Food Science, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering or Biotechnology may also apply.
In all cases candidates should have ability to work in computer.

4. Assistant grade-III (Depot): Postcode-D

For Northern region – 823 nos. (General-459, OBC-204, SC-142, ST-18) among them ex-serviceman-08 and PH candidates-29
For Southern region – 278 nos. (General-150, OBC-75, SC-42, ST-11) among them ex-serviceman-28 and PH candidates-08
For Western region – 226 nos. (General-122, OBC-41, SC-22, ST-41) among them ex-serviceman-21 and PH candidates-7
Required Qualification: Graduate candidate in any stream from any recognised University may apply for the post. Candidates should have ability to work in computer.

Selection of candidates: Candidate will be selected by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) through Written Test. For the post code “A” “B” and “D”, there will be two papers. First paper will be on the following four topics – (I) General Intelligence, (II) General Awareness, (III) Quantitative Aptitude and (IV) English Language. Questions will be objective type of 200 marks of 200 numbers questions.
Second paper will be objective type on the following two topics – (I) Quantitative Methods, and (II) English Language and Comprehension. Total 100 marks of 100 numbers questions.
For the post code “C”, the written test will be on two papers. The First paper will be same as above first paper and the Third paper will be of objective type on Biological Science’s topics for 200 marks of 200 Nos. Questions

The Written Test of First and Second paper will be held on 5th February, 2012 and Third paper will be on 4th February 2012 at the following respective centres of eastern India – Kolkata (code 4410), Medinipur (code 4413), Jalpaiguri (4408), Siliguri (4415), Chunchura (4405), Port Blair (code 4802), Gangtok (4001), Cuttack (4605), Sambhalpur (code 4609), Shillong (5401), Dispur (Guwahati- code 5105), Silchar (5111), Agartala (5601), Imphal (5501), Aijwal (5701), Itanagar (401), Diprugar (425), Goalpara (5104), Kohima (5302), Patna (3206), Bhubaneswar (4604) and Ranchi (4205).

Candidates selected in first paper will be allowed to sit in second paper and Third paper.

How to apply: Candidates may apply either online or off-line. To apply off-line, candidates may prepare the application on plain full scope paper by neatly typing and then filling it with own handwriting. Candidates should make Central Recruitment Fee of Rs. 200 and then cancelled it from the clerk of the post office. No fee required for female, SC/ST, PH and ex-serviceman candidates.

Bihar’s candidates should send at—“The Regional Director (CR), Staff Selection Commission, 8-AB, Beli Road, Allahabad-211002, Uttar Pradesh”.

Procedure to apply online: Online application can be made from the official website of Staff Selection Commission’s website – www.ssconline.nic.in or http://sscregistration.sifyitest.com
Before applying online, candidates should deposit the exam fee of Rs. 200 either by net banking or by depositing the amount in any branch of State Bank of India. Fee should be deposited through fee challan only. Candidates  willing to pay through a State Bank of India, should first make the registration of Part-1. After registration of Part-1 they can download the fee challan copy and can pay the fee. Now after paying the fee, they can proceed for Part-2 registration.
After submitting the online form, computer-generated registration form will appear on the screen; make printout copy of it and keep safely for future use. More details on how to fill the online application form is provided on the website – http://ssc.nic.in.
