Educational Qualification: Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University.

Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 01-01-2019.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.39100

 

2. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION FOR GOVT. BP.ED COLLEGES

No. of Vacancies: 07 Nos. (UR-04, SC-03)

Educational Qualification: i) Masters Degree in Physical Education with minimum 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
ii) NET/ SLET/ SET passed qualification in Physical Education and exemption thereof and any other stipulation as may be prescribed by UGC/ any such affiliating body/ State Government.

Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 01-01-2019.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.39100

Educational Qualification:
i) For Methodology Courses (i) to (xvii) except (iv) and (xi):-
a) Masters Degree in same or relevant subject with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
b) M.Ed with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
c) NET/ SLET/ SET passed qualification. (NET/ SLET/ SET passed qualification can be obtained either in Education or in the subject of Master’s Degree)

iii) For Foundation Course (iii):-
a) Master’s Degree in Science/ Commerce/ Arts with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
b) M.Ed with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
c) NET/ SLET/ SET passed qualification. (NET/ SLET/ SET passed qualification can be obtained either in Education or in the subject of Master’s Degree).
OR
a) M.A. in Education with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
b) B.Ed with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
c) NET/ SLET/ SET passed qualification in Education.

iii) For Music (xi):-
a) Master’s Degree in Music Arts with minimum 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
b) NET/ SLET/ SET passed qualification in relevant discipline.
OR
A traditional and a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject, who should have –
a) Studies under noted/ reputed traditional masters and has thorough knowledge to explain the subject concerned.
b) A high grade artist of AIR/ TV.
c) Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline.

Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 01-01-2019.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.39100

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and upto the age of 50 years for PWD category.

 

For all the above posts:- The candidates must have proficiency, spoken and written, to communicate effectively in Bengali and English.

The vacancies are for General Degree Colleges, Govt. B.P.Ed. Colleges and Govt. Teachers Training Colleges in the West Bengal Education Service under the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal. The posts are Permanent in nature.

Reserved Category candidates from the states other than West Bengal will be treated as General Candidates.


Note:-

i) A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master’s level for SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC categories in the above Educational Qualification.
ii) The candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ SLET/ SET. For more details please see the Official Advt.
iii) NET/ SLET/ SET shall not be required for such Master’s Degree Programme in disciplines for which NET/ SLET/ SET accredited test is not conducted.
iv) Candidates should have the ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not applicable for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Interview. In case of large applications received, the Commission may restrict the number of candidates to be called to Interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of either higher qualifications in the relevant subjects/ higher standard of marks/ grade obtained in the essential qualifications or experience in relevant field higher than the minimum prescribed or on the basis of a Preliminary Screening Test (PST).

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO WEST BENGAL PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (PSCWB) AT THIS STAGE.
