The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has released the admission notification for two full-time M.Sc. courses under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to be University, Mumbai. The courses will be conducted at the Radiation Medicine Centre in Anushaktinagar, Mumbai. The online registration process has started from 20th March 2026 and will remain open until 10th April 2026. Interested candidates must complete the application process well before the last date to avoid any last-minute issues.

BARC MSc 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the form, candidates must check the eligibility criteria for their respective courses:

For M.Sc. (Nuclear Medicine Technology and Hospital Radiopharmacy) (NMT & HRP)

  • Educational Qualification: B.Sc. in any discipline with Chemistry as one of the subjects AND Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology at the H.S.C. (10+2) level.
  • OR B.Pharm. from a UGC-recognized university.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in Science Subjects at the B.Sc./B.Pharm level.
  • Correspondence courses are not considered.

For M.Sc. (Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology) (NM & MIT)

  • Educational Qualification: B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology (with Physics or Chemistry as one of the subjects in B.Sc.) from a UGC-recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in Science Subjects.
  • OR B.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine from an AERB-recognized institute.
  • Correspondence courses are not considered.

Age Limit

  • Not more than 35 years as of 1st May 2026.
  • Relaxation: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PWD (10 years), Sponsored candidates (10 years).

Application Fee

No application fee is mentioned in the notification for the online application process. However, selected candidates will have to pay a one-time enrolment fee of Rs. 11,000/- (subject to change as per HBNI) and a caution deposit of Rs. 2,000/- to BARC.

Stipend, Bond, and Course Fees

  • Stipend: Non-Sponsored candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 18,500/- per month. No stipend for Sponsored candidates.
  • Fees: No course fees by BARC. Selected candidates must pay a one-time enrolment fee (approx. Rs. 11,000/-) to HBNI and a caution deposit of Rs. 2,000/- to BARC.
  • Bond: Selected candidates must execute a bond to complete the 2-year course. Failure to complete the course will result in liability to pay back the total stipend received with interest.
  • Medical Insurance: It is mandatory for students to carry their own medical insurance with service available in Mumbai for the duration of the course.
