WB JELET 2026 Registration Begins, Check Eligibility, Timetable, Exam Zone and Exam Pattern

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially commenced the online registration process for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test (JELET) 2026. Candidates seeking admission to the second year (3rd semester) of undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy can now submit their WB JELET 2026 applications on the official website.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has released the Information Bulletin and opened the application window for JELET 2026 on 18th March 2026. This state-level entrance examination is the gateway for lateral entry admission into various Universities, Government Colleges, and Self-Financing Institutes across West Bengal.

As per the official information bulletin, the online registration and application process has started from 19th March 2026 and will continue until 6th April 2026. Candidates aiming for a seat in Engineering, Technology, or Pharmacy degree programs through lateral entry must fill out and submit the application form online before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

WB JELET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must carefully check the eligibility criteria based on their qualifying examination before applying.

For Admission to Engineering & Technology Degree Courses:

• Diploma Holders: Passed a minimum 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).
• B.Sc. Graduates: Passed B.Sc. with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) and must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics.
• B.Voc./D.Voc. Graduates: Passed B.Voc/3-year D.Voc. in the same or allied sector.

For Admission to Pharmacy Degree Courses:

• Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) Holders: Passed D.Pharm from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).

Age Limit:

• Diploma Holders (Engg/Tech/D.Voc./Pharmacy): No upper age limit.
• B.Sc. Candidates: Maximum 27 years as of 31.12.2026.
• Marine Engineering Diploma Holders: Maximum 25 years as of 31.12.2026.

The examination fee can be paid online via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or QR Code. The fee structure is as follows:

Steps to Fill WB JELET Application Form 2026

Candidates can follow these steps to complete their application successfully:

1. Registration: Visit the official website and register by entering your name, parents’ names, date of birth, valid email ID, and mobile number. An application number will be generated.
2. Fill Application: Log in with your credentials and fill in the detailed application form, including academic qualifications, domicile, category, and choice of exam zones.
3. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size colour photograph (10-200 KB, JPG/JPEG) and signature (4-30 KB, JPG/JPEG).
4. Pay Fees: Pay the required examination fees through the available online payment gateway.
5. Submit & Print Confirmation: After successful payment, submit the form and download the ‘Confirmation Page’. Your application is complete only after the confirmation page is generated.

WB JELET 2026 Exam Pattern

The exam will be held for two hours. There are two separate papers based on the candidate’s qualifying degree.

Paper-I (For Diploma in Engg/Tech, B.Sc., D.Voc., B.Voc. Candidates):

Paper-II (For Diploma in Pharmacy Candidates):

• Consists of 100 questions in Category-1 (1 mark each, with 1/4 negative marking).

JELET 2026 Exam Zones

Candidates will have to choose their preferred examination zones at the time of application. The zone list varies based on the candidate’s domicile status (West Bengal, Tripura, or other States/UTs). Some of the key zones in West Bengal include multiple centres in Kolkata (North, South, Central, Salt Lake), Howrah, Durgapur, Siliguri, Kharagpur, and Haldia.

Candidates domiciled in Tripura and other states have a specific set of zones to choose from, primarily located in Kolkata, Howrah, and Paschim Burdwan.
