SCIENTIST “B”
Name of the Discipline and No. of vacancies are as follows: –

Mechanical Engineering: 28 (UR-11; SC-5; ST-4; OBC-8)
Metallurgical Engineering: 12 (UR-3; SC-2; ST-2; OBC-5)
Civil Engineering: 08 (UR-3; SC-2; ST-1; OBC-2)
Electrical Engineering: 20 (UR-8; SC-3; ST-3; OBC-6)
Electronics Engineering: 04 (UR-1; SC-1; ST-1; OBC-1)
Chemical Engineering: 12 (UR-5; SC-2; ST-2; OBC-3)
Microbiology: 04 (UR-1; SC-1; ST-1; OBC-1)
Chemistry: 08 (UR-4; SC-1; ST-1; OBC-2)
Leather Technology: 01 (UR)

 

Educational Qualification:
(i) For discipline Chemistry & Microbiology: Master’s Degree in Natural Science or equivalent in concerned discipline with not less than 60% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST candidates)

(ii) For rest of all discipline: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent in concerned discipline with not less than 60% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST candidates)

 

Age Limit (For all above posts/discipline): Between 21 to 30 years as on 01/09/2015. The Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST candidates shall be 5 years; for OBC candidates shall be 3 years; for PWD (Gen) candidates shall be 10 years; Domicile of J&K – 05 years, Ex-Servicemen and others – As per Govt. norms.

 

Pay Scales (For all above posts/discipline): Rs.15600/- Rs.39100/- and 5400/-

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Online Examination and Interview. Tentative date of Online Examination is 18/10/2015. Candidates may download their call letters after 10/10/2015.

Examination will be at various centers across the Country. In West Bengal, the examination centre will be at – Durgapur, Greater Kolkata and Siliguri.

Exact Date, Time and Venue for examination/interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course as well as such information will be also available in the official website of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.750/- as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. See officially released advertisement for more details.
