Overviews of Bold Kurukshetra
Bold Kurukshetra – During March 6–13, 2023, at Jodhpur Military Station in India, the Singapore Army and Indian Army took part in the 13th iteration of Exercise Bold Kurukshetra, a bilateral armor exercise. Both armies took part in a command post exercise for the first time in the series, which included computer wargaming and planning components at the battalion and brigade levels. The 42nd Battalion, Singapore Armoured Regiment, and an Armoured Brigade of the Indian Army participated in the exercise, which was hosted by the Indian Army.
Importance of Bold Kurukshetra
The ten-day joint training, which started on March 5th, promoted a shared understanding of mechanized warfare regarding new threats and developing technologies. Interoperability was developed through a wargame based on a computer simulation that used joint operational and tactical procedures that were managed by a collaborative command post. Both contingents gained knowledge of one another’s operational procedures and drills, but they also shared ideas and best practices used in contemporary combat zones.
Background of Bold Kurukshetra
- Exercise Bold Kurukshetra is carried out in accordance with the bilateral agreement between the Indian Army and the Singaporean Army for combined army training and exercises.
- This exercise, which was first carried out in 2005, highlights the long-standing bilateral defense connection between the two nations and strengthens coordination between the two forces. Regular interactions between the two defense institutions also take the form of high-level visits, policy discussions, courses, and other professional exchanges.
