Border Security Force (BSF) is recruiting 58 “Sub-Inspector (Works)” for BSF Engg Set up for the year 2014. The selection of the candidates will be through All India Examination. Interested and eligible Boys and Girls may apply on prescribed application format only (See the PDF below). The post is temporary but likely to become permanent. Educational qualification norms and other details in brief are given below —

SUB-INSPECTOR (WORKS)
Number of Vacancies: 58 Nos. (Gen—26; SC—11; ST—08; OBC—13). Out of total, 10% vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Qualification: 03 years Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Age: Maximum 30 years as on last date of application. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.9300—34800 and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

Minimum Physical Standards of the candidates —
Male candidates: Height—165cms (160cms for hill tribes and adivasis including Mizos and Nagas); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—76cms/ 81cms; Weight—Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Female candidates: Height—157cms; Chest—Not applicable; Weight—According to height but not less than 46 Kgs.

Eye Sight (for all): Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both the eyes without correction.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection will be through All Indian Examination (Written Test), Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Practical test, Interview and Medical Examination.
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination of 100 marks on OMR based answer sheets. There will be two composite paper – (i) First paper will be Objective type with multiple choice on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering (Civil), (ii) Second paper will be Conventional type on General Engineering (Civil).

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be as follows —
For Male Candidates: (i) One Mile run within 8 minutes, (ii) Standing Broad Jump(High Jump) of  4ft 6inch and (iii) Ditch Clearing (Long jump) of 6ft.
For Female Candidates: (i) One Mile run within 12 minutes, (ii) Standing Broad Jump(High Jump) of  3ft 6inch and (iii) Ditch Clearing (Long jump) of 4ft.

Examination Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Examination Fee of Rs.50/- in form of Demand Draft/ Postal Order drawn in favour of IG/DIG to whom the application is addressed (See the below PDF file for address list)

Candidates from West Bengal State may apply for Kadamtala centre and shall draw the IPO/ DD in favour of IG BSF North Bengal and write payable at SBI NBU Campus Siliguri Code No.-2096 (if DD) or Kadamtala, Siliguri (if IPO). For rest of other States/Centre, see the below given PDF file.

NO FEE FOR SC/ST/ EX-SERVICEMAN AND ALL WOMEN CANDIDATES.

How to Apply: Candidates may apply on prescribed application format along with attested copies of Qualification certificate, Caste certificate, Age proof document, DD/ IPO Etc.
Candidates must also enclose three identical passport size photographs (one each on application and admit card and third one to be attached with application).
Candidates must enclose Two Self-Addressed envelopes (25×12 cms) affixed with postal stamp of Rs.39/- on each.

Superscribe the top of the envelope in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT OF SUB-INSPECTOR (WORKS) IN BSF ENGG SET UP 2014”.

Last Date and Address: The duly filled Application form along with enclosures is to be addressed to any one of the Centres nearest to the candidates (See the below given PDF file for Address list as per Centre wise) so as to reach or before 30 days (45 days for candidates from far flung areas)  from the date of publication of this advertisement in Employment News (published on dated – 11/01/2014 in Employment News)
