Border Security Force (BSF) is inviting application from the Meritorious Sportsperson (Male/ Female) to fill up the post of Constable (General Duty). Total vacancies—40 Nos. Interested and eligible candidates may apply only on prescribed application format (See below). Educational qualification norms and brief details are given below —

MALE CANDIDATES:
1. Athletics: 07 Nos.
2. Archery: 02 Nos.
3. Boxing: 2 Nos.
4. Cross Country: 03 Nos.
5. Gymnastics: 01 Nos.
6. Judo: 03 Nos.
7. Swimming: 01 Nos
8. Water Sports (Kayaking, Canoeing & Rowing): 05 Nos.
9. Weightlifting: 03 Nos.
10. Wrestling (Free Style & Greco Roman): 05 Nos.
FEMALE CANDIDATES:
1. Athletics: 02 Nos.
2. Archery: 02 Nos.
3. Judo: 02 Nos.
4. Weightlifting: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or Class 10 pass.
Sports Eligibility: Sportsperson shall have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition OR have represented their University in the Inter— University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board OR have represented State Schools Team in National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation
Age Limit: Between 18yrs to 23yrs as on 01-08-2014. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years from SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates. Others – as per norms. (See advt. below)
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/- plus other allowances as per norms.
Physical Standards:
Male: Height—170 cms (162.5 cms for ST); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—80cms/ 85cms (76/81cms for ST); Weight—as per medical standards.
Female candidates: Height—157 cms; Chest – Not applicable; Weight—as per medical standards.
Eye sight: 6/6 and 6/9 in minimum distant vision with both eyes without correction.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties
Candidates’ Selection: Candidates will have to undergo the following process of recruitment:-
i) Height Bar/Test
ii) Identity check
iii) Checking of Testimonials/documents
iv) Physical Standard Test
v) Trial in respective sports discipline.
vi) Medical Examination.
Exact date and venue of recruitment will be intimated to the eligible candidate in due course.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (See the PDF file below) along with attested copies of the following testimonials —
i) Education certificate.
ii) Date of birth certificate.
iii) Indian Postal order or Demand Draft for Rs. 50/- only (exempted for SC/ST) in favour of “Commandant 25 Bn BSF. In case of Postal order payable at Post office Chhawla and in case of Demand Draft payable at SBI Najafgarh ADB, New Delhi, Bank Code 001419.
iv) SC/ST and OBC certificate, which should be on the format as prescribed in Annexure-‘E’ & Annexure-‘F’ respectively.
v) Two self-addressed envelopes of size 23×10 cms duly affixed with postage stamp of Rs 5/-bearing name and full address of the candidate with Pin code.
vi) Form for issue of Admit Card (in full size paper) duly filled in and forwarded along with passport size photograph duly attested by a Gazetted officer with name, designation & seal as per Annexure-‘B’.
vii) Sports achievements Certificate of the sports discipline for which the candidate is applying.
viii) ‘No objection Certificate’ issued by the Govt. /Semi Govt. department, in case the candidate is Govt. employee, as per format given in Annexure-‘C’.
