Border Security Force (Engg. Set Up), Under Ministry of Home Affairs, is recruiting 240 Group-B Combatised posts—Inspector (Architect), Sub- Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Civil) and Sub Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Electrical). Apply on prescribed format. Details below—
Post: Inspector (Architect): 7 Nos. (Gen-4, OBC-2, SC-1)
Qualification: Degree in Architecture and should have registered with Council of Architecture.
Pay scale: Rs.9300—Rs.34800 and Grade Pay- Rs.4600
Age limit: between 20yrs to 25yrs
Post: Sub Inspector/ Junior Engineer (Civil): 183 Nos. (Gen-95, OBC-52, SC-24, ST-12)
Qualification: Diploma course of 3 years in Civil Engineering.
Pay Scale: Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 and Grade pay—Rs.4200
Age limit: between 18yrs to 25yrs
Post: Sub Inspector (Electrical): 50 Nos. (Gen-34, OBC-7, SC-6, ST-3)
Qualification: Diploma course of 3yrs in Electrical Engineering.
Pay scale and Age limit is same as above post.
Age relaxation: OBC- 3yrs, SC/ST- 5yrs and Others—as per govt. norms.
Physical Height and Weight: —
For the post of Inspector (Architecture)
Height: 167.5 cms (162.5 for SC/ST, Mizos and Nagas.)
Chest (Unexpanded/ expanded): 81cms/ 86cms (78cms/ 83cms for SC/ST)
Weight: should be corresponding to height and age.
Eye sight: 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without glasses.
For the post of SI/ Junior Engineer (both Electrical and Civil)
Height: 165 cms (160cms for Hill tribes and Adivasis.
Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 76cms/ 81cms (relaxable by 2cms for candidates below age of 20yrs)
Weight: Corresponding to height and weight
Candidates should not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose vein, squint in eyes and should be free from any physical defect which may hinder performance of duty.
Selection Steps: Candidates will have to go through Written Examination, Document verification, Physical Measurement, Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test, Trade Test (only for Architecture), Interview and finally Medical Examination.
Written Examination will of Objective Type. Candidates qualified in written examination will be allowed for Document verification and Physical Measurement.
Physical Efficiency Test will be of—(i) Standing Broad Jump of 4ft 6inches, (ii) Jump and Reach of 7 feet, (iii) race of one mile within 12 minutes (for SI/JE (civil/ Elect.) and 8 minutes for Insp. (Architecture) and (iv) Clear of ditch of 6 ft.
Ex-Serviceman are not required to undergo through Physical Efficiency Test.
Trade test will be taken only for candidates who have applied for the post of Inspector (Architecture)
Qualified candidates will be called for Interview and then finally medical examination for candidates’ fitness verification.
Date and venue of examination will be informed to the candidates at later stage.

Candidates should prepare a Demand Draft/ Indian Postal Order of Rs.50 as Examination fee in Favour of – “DDO HQ DG BSF” and payable at – “SBI Service Brach New Delhi, Code No.7687”. SC/ST and Ex-Serviceman do not require fee.
Application fee should be properly enclosed with below given Attested copies of documents. Attestation should be done by Gazetted Officer.—
- 3 recent passport size photograph duly attested by Gazetted Officer (paste one on Application form and one on Admit Card. The third one as enclosure with the form)
- 2 Nos. Self-Addressed envelope (25×12 cms) with postal stamp of Rs.27
- Demand Draft/ Postal order of Rs.50 (for General and OBC candidates only)
- Attested copy of Caste certificate in case of SC/ST and OBC
- Attested copy of Madhyamik Certificate for verification of age
- Attested copy of Qualification Certificate and Diploma course certificates and Experience Certificate, if any
- Any other relevant document, if any such as NOC and Age relaxation certificate
