Border Security Force (BSF) is recruiting 3277 Constable (Tradesmen) in Group-C Non-Gazetted posts. Only male candidates may apply. Vacancies were in the following trades — Cobbler, Tailor, Carpenter, Painter, Draughtsman, Tin Smith, Cook, WC, Kahar, Washerman, Barber, Sweeper, Waiter, Mali and Khoji. N.B: From the total no. of vacancies, 10% of it is reserved for Ex-Serviceman.
Required Qualification: Madhyamik pass and –
(i) 2 years of work experience in relevant trade OR
(ii) Certificate course of 1 year from ITI/ Vocational Institute with one year of experience OR
(iii) Diploma course of 2 years in relevant trade from I.T.I.
Physical Standard: —
Height: 167.5 cms
Chest (Unexpanded/ expanded): 78cms/ 83cms
For ST/ Adivasi/ Nagas and Mizos—Height:162cms; chest (unexpanded/expanded):76cms/81cms
For Candidates from Hill areas such as Garhwal, Kumaon, Gorkhas, Dogras and Candidates from States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal, Kashmir, Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K—Height: 165cms; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded):78cms/ 83cms.
Height (for all categories): Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Eye sight (for all): distant vision should be minimum 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without any glass.
Candidates should not have any physical defect which may hinder the performance of duty.
Age limit: Candidates should be between 18yrs to 23yrs. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Serviceman and Others is as per govt. norms.
Selection Steps: At beginning of the recruitment process there will be—
(i) Height Bar Test—measurement of Height
(ii) Physical Efficiency Test which will be of Race of 5 KM to be completed in 24 minutes
(iii) Verification of documents and testimonials of the candidates.
(iv) Physical Efficiency Test—Measurement of Chest, Weight, Height and etc.
(v) Trade Test—Candidates who qualify PET will be put through the respective Trade Test
(vi) Written Test—this will be of 100 marks and will consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice question.

- Postal Order or Demand Draft of Rs.50 which should be in favour of Concerned IG/DIG/Commandant and payable at bank of concerned Headquarter under which their state falls. Please refer the Advt. from the official website for details.
- Attested copies of Educational/ Experience/ Trade/ Age/Caste and Etc as applicable
- Attested copy of Domicile certificate issued by an officer not below Tehsildar or SDO/SDM
- One self-addressed envelope (23x10cms) affixed with postal stamp of Rs.5.
- 2 Nos. passport size photographs duly attested by Attested Gazetted Officer (paste on copy of Application form and other copy of Admit card)
