BSF- 409 Sub-Inspector, Head Constable, Constable – (Master/Engine Driver/Workshop/Crew) in Border Security Force in Water Wing Group B & C.

Border Security Force (BSF), Ministry of Home Affairs, is recruiting 409 boys for various posts in Water Wing Group- B and Group-C Combatised Staff, such as—Sub-Inspector (Master/ Driver), Head Constable (Master/ Engine Driver/ Workshop) and Constable (Crew). The posts were temporary but are likely to become permanent. Details below—

1. Sub Inspector (Master): 13 Nos. (Gen-9, OBC-3, SC-1)
Qualification: Bachelor Degree and First class Master Certificate issued by Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.
Age: between 20yrs to 25yrs.
Pay: Rs.9300—Rs.34800 and Grade pay of Rs.4200

2. Sub Inspector (Engine Driver): 13 Nos. (Gen-9, OBC-3, SC-1)
Qualification: Bachelor Degree and First Class Engine Driver Certificate Inland Water Transport Authority or Mercantile Marine Department.
Age and Salary is same as above post.

3. Head Constable (Master): 130 Nos. (Gen-64, OBC-36, SC-20, ST-10)
Qualification: Matriculation (Class X) passed. Should have Serang Certificate and one year experience in the trade from a recognised Institution.
Age: between 20yrs to 25yrs
Salary: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and grade pay of Rs.2400

4. Head Constable (Engine Driver): 109 Nos. (Gen-48, OBC-39, SC-10, ST-12)
Qualification: Matriculation passed and should have IInd Class Engine Driver Certificate with one year experience.
Age and salary is same as above.

5. Head Constable (Workshop): Trade wise vacancies—
Mechanic (Diesel and Petro): 14 Nos. (Gen-12, SC-2)
Carpenter: 9 Nos. (Gen-7, OBC-1, SC-1)
Machinist: 3 Nos. (Gen-1, OBC-1, SC-1)
Electrician: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation pass and have done ITI on respective trade as well as one year experience in respective trade.
Age and pay scale is same as above.

6. Constable (Crew): 117 Nos. (Gen-20, OBC-58, SC-28, ST-11)
Qualification: Matriculation passed. Two years experience in operating of Boat below 265 HP.
Age is same as above.
Salary: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay of rs.2000

Age relaxation for OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs and Ex-serviceman- as per norms.

Physical Standard: —
Height: 165 Cms. (160 cms for SC/ST, Adivasis Mizos and Nagas). For hill area candidates- 162.5 cms
Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 75 cms/ 80cms. (73cms/ 78cms for SC/ST and Adivasis, Mizos. Nagas).
Weight: Proportional to Age and Height as per medical standard.
Eye Sight: 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without glasses.
The candidates must not have knock-knees, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and any other obvious deformities. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Candidates’ Selection: Candidates will  be selected through Written Examination, Physical measurement and verification, Physical Efficiency Test, Trade Test and Interview. Finally there will be Medical examination.
Written Examination will be of Objective Types with Multiple Choice. If qualified then Physical Measurement and Document verification. After this, candidates will be called for Physical Efficiency Test will be of—(I) One mile race within 6 min 8 Secs, (II) Beam- 5 pull up, (III) High Jump of 4 ft, (IV) Long Jump of 12 ft, and (V) Balance in 3 attempts.
Trade test will be in respective trade and then Interview and Medical examination.

Candidate should pay examination fee of Rs.50 in form of DD or IPO in favour of—  DDO and payable at- respective centre. West Bengal’s Candidates opting for Kolkata centre should write “Kolkata”. SC/ST candidates do not require fee.
Along with application, enclose the following documents—

• Attested copies of educational Certificates and Marksheets
• Attested copy of Experience certificate.
• Attested copy of Caste certificate.
• 3 passport size photograph (1 copy on application form and 1 copy on Admit card and then attestation by Gazetted Officer, 3rd copy with attestation, send with application form as enclosure)
• Two Nos. self-addressed envelopes with affix postal stamp of Rs.27 on each.
• DD or IPO of Rs.50.

On the application containing envelope, subscribe in capital letters—“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SI (MASTER)/ SI (ENGINE DRIVER)/ HC (MASTER)/ HC (ENGINE DRIVER)/ HC (WORKSHOP)/ CT (CREW) IN BSF WATER WING”.

Last date of Application: Application form should reach within 11 March 2012 by Ordinary post at the respective address of the centres.
