Border Security Force (BSF) – Recruitment to Motor Transport Workshop Cadre in various trades. Last Dt. 14/07/2014

Border Security Force (BSF) is recruiting eligible Male candidates to Technical posts for Motor Transport Workshop Cadre – Storekeeper, Auto Elect., Blacksmith, Operator, Upholster and Etc. The post is temporary but likely to become permanent. Selection of the candidates will be through All India Examination conducted by BSF. Qualification norms and brief details are given below —

1. Sub-Inspector (Storekeeper) 
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (Gen)

2. Constable (Auto Electrician)
Number of Vacancies: 5 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—1; ST—0; OBC—2)

3. Constable (Blacksmith/ Tin Smith)
Number of Vacancies: 6 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—1; ST—2; OBC—1)

4. Constable (Vulcanize/ Operator Tyre Repair Plant)
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)

5. Constable (Upholster)
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)

6. Constable (Storekeeper)
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)

Educational Qualification: 
For Sub Inspector (Storekeeper): Qualification: 03 years Diploma in Auto Mobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Auto Electrical Engineering
For all Constable (CT- Technical) posts: Matriculation or 10th Class pass AND (a) ITI in respective trade OR (b) 03yrs work experience in respective trade.

Age Limit:
For SI (Technical): 20 to 25yrs
For CT (Technical): 18 to 25 yrs.
Age will be counted as on 14/07/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Pay Scale: 
For SI (Technical): Rs.9300—34800 and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-
For CT (Technical): Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/-

Physical Standards (for all posts and for all categories):
Height—165cms; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—75/80cms; Weight—Correspondence to height.
Note: 160 cms in Chest measurement only for North Eastern State and candidates from Hilly region/ states. See the PDF below for details.
Vision: Minimum distant vision 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without correction (i.e. without wearing of glasses).
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

The posts are temporary but likely to be permanent. Selection of the candidates will be through All India basis Examination which will be conducted by Recruitment Board of BSF. For Written Test syllabus and selection norms, please see the below given PDF file.

There will be Physical Test which will be as follows (for all posts) —
(i) 1.6 Kms run within 08 Minutes
(ii) High jump of 3 feet 6 inches in 03 attempts
(iii) Long jump of 11 feet in 03 attempts

Examination Fee: Rs.50/- is to be paid in form of Postal Order or Bank Draft.  PO/Draft shall be drawn in favour of respective centre, nearest to the candidate. See the address list in the below given PDF file.

NO FEE FOR SC/ST AND EX-SERVICEMAN.

How to Apply: Apply only on prescribed application format (See PDF below). Application form shall be enclosed with attested copies of testimonials in support of Qualification, Age, Caste and Etc.
Enclose 02 self-addressed envelopes of size of 25 x12 cms with postal stamp worth Rs. 27/- on each.

The envelope containing application must be super scribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SUB INSPECTOR (TECHNICAL) / CONSTABLE (TECHNICAL) IN BSF FOR MOTOR TRANSPORT WORKSHOP CADRE-2014”.
