Border Security Force (BSF) – Recruitment of 496 ASI (RM) and HC (Radio Operator/ Fitter). Last Dt. 07/07/2014

Border Security Force, Communication Wing, is recruiting eligible boys and girls to the post of – Assistant Sub-Inspector (RM), Head Constable (RO) and Head Constable (Fitter). Total vacancies – 496 Nos. (Including Ex-Servicemen and Departmental reservation). 1. Assistant Sub Inspector (RO): 35 Nos. (Gen—19; OBC—8; SC—5; ST—3)
Qualification: 03 years Diploma in Radio and TV Technology or Electronics or Telecommunication or Computer or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Domestic Appliances from recognized Institutions
OR
10+2 or Intermediate or equivalent with aggregate marks of 50% with selective subject being Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

2. Head Constable (RO): 228 Nos. (Gen—96; OBC—62; SC—43; ST—27)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and 02 years ITI certificate course in Radio & TV or Electronics
OR
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

3. Head Constable (Fitter): 06 Nos. (Gen—4; OBC—1; SC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and 02 years ITI Certificate in Engine Fitter or Diesel Mechanic or Automobile or Motor Mechanic
OR
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Age Limit (For all posts): Minimum 18yrs and maximum 25yrs as on 07/07/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay for ASI (RM) is Rs.2800/- and Rs.2400/- for HC (RO/ Fitter) plus other allowances as per norms.

Physical Standards: 
For Male Candidates: Height—168 cms (162.5 for ST); Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—80cms/85cms (76/81 cms for ST); Weight—As per Medical Standard.

For Female Candidates: Height—157 cms(154cms for ST); Chest—Not Applicable; Weight—As per Medical Standard.
Cut-off in Height and Chest for Hill area candidates and North-Eastern Region (including J&K) is as per Govt. norms. Please see the below given PDF file for complete details.

Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. 

Physical Efficiency Test will be as follows —
For Male candidates: (i) Race of 1.6 KM in 6.5 minutes, (ii) Long Jump of 11 feet in 3 chances; (iii) High Jump of 3.5 feet in 3 chances.
For Female candidates: (i) Race of 800 metres in 4 minute, (ii) Long jump of 9 feet in 3 chances; (iii) High Jump of 3 feet in 3 chances.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Dictation Test [for HC (RO) only], Interview and finally Medical Examination.
At first phase of recruitment, the Written Test will be conducted. Candidate who will qualify Written test will be called for further selection steps. Written Test will be on OMR sheet and may conducted on 24 August 2014.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply only on prescribed application format (see the PDF given below). Candidates may prepare the application by neatly typing on plain paper strictly as per the given format.
The duly filled Application form must be enclosed with attested copies of testimonials in support of Educational qualification, Age proof, Caste, Domicile certificate and Etc.
Enclose 02 Self-Addressed envelopes (25x12cms) with duly affixed postal stamp of Rs.27/- on each.

Application Fee: The application should be accompanied by a Crossed Bank Draft/IPO of Rs.50/- (Only for General and OBC candidates) as examination fee drawn in favour of the – Inspector General or DIG or Commandant to whom the application is addressed and payable at respective SBI/Post Office.
No fee for SC/ST candidates. NOTE: PREPARE THE DRAFT/ IPO ON OR AFTER 31/05/2014, i.e. ON OR AFTER OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCEMENT OF THIS ADVERTISEMENT IN EMPLOYMENT GAZETTE/ NEWSPAPER.
