BSF Recruitment to 80 Nos. Group ‘C’ (Combatised) for Engg. Setup (Civil) & NDRF BNs. Last Dt.28/09/2014

Border Security Force (BSF) is inviting application from eligible Male and Female candidate for recruitment of following Group ‘C’ posts (Combatised) for Engineering Set up (Civil) and NDRF BNs — Head Constable (Pioneer), Head Constable (Welder/ Plumber/ Technical/ Operator/Mason/ Fitter/Blacksmith) and Constable (Carpenter/ Mason/ Plumber/ Welder). The posts are temporary but likely to become permanent. Educational Qualification norms and brief details are given below —

BSF RECRUITMENT FOR GROUP C POSTS (COMBATISED) FOR ENGINEERING SET UP (CIVIL) AND NDRF BNs. LAST DATE – 28/09/2014

BSF will hold an All India Examination for direct recruitment of Group ‘C’ posts (Combatised) in BSF Engg Set up (Civil) & NDRF Bns for the year 2014-15.

1. Head Constable (Pioneer): 23 Nos. (Gen—13; OBC—6; SC—3; ST—1)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Mason or Carpenter or Plumber or Electrician or Blacksmith or Welder or Painter or Polisher or Mechanist or 03 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm.

2. Head Constable (Welder): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Welder or 03 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm.

3. Head Constable (Plumber): 1 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Plumber or 03 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

4. Head Constable (Technical): 27 Nos. (Gen—15; OBC—7; SC—4; ST—1)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate or 03 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

5. Head Constable (Carpenter/ Mason): 2 Nos. (OBC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Carpenter/Mason or 03 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

6. Head Constable (Fitter/ Blacksmith): 5 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Fitter/ Blacksmith or 03 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

7. Constable (Carpenter): 6 Nos. (Gen—5; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Carpenter or 02 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

8. Constable (Mason): 6 Nos. (Gen—5; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Mason or 02 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

9. Constable (Plumber): 6 Nos. (Gen—5; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Plumber or 02 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

10. Constable (Welder): 3 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent with ITI certificate in the trade of Welder or 02 years experience in the respective trade from reputed firm

Age Limit: Between 18 years and 25 years as on last date of receipt of application. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Pay Scale:
For Head Constable: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-
For Constable: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/-

Physical Standards:
For Male Candidates: Height—165cms (160cms for Hill Tribes and Adivasis including Mizos and Nagas); Chest (Unexpanded/ expanded)—76cms/ 81 cms (Relaxable by 02 cms for candidates below 20 years of age); Weight—Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
For Female Candidates: Height—157 cms; Chest – Not applicable; Weight—According to height but not less than 46 Kgs.

Eye Sight: The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without correction.

Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties
Candidates’ Selection:
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination (100 question carrying 100 marks) on OMR based answer sheets. Written examination will be Objective Type with multiple choices on following subjects – General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Mathematics and Technical Subject.
Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for Documentation verification, Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Practical test, Interview and Medical Examination.
Date and venue of examination will be intimated to the eligible candidates through Call letter.

Physical Efficiency Test will be as follows —
(i) Run: 1.6 Km in 6.5 minutes for Male candidates AND 800 mtrs in 04 minutes for Female candidates.
(ii) Long Jump: 11 feet in 3 chances for Male and 09 ft in 3 chances for Female
(iii) High Jump: 3.5 feet in 3 chances for Male and 03ft in 3 chances for Female candidates.

Application Fee: Candidates shall pay Application Fee of Rs.50/- as Examination fee in form of Demand Draft/ Postal Order drawn in favour of IG/ Commandant of respective examination centre where the candidate wish to apply. (See the PDF below for address list)
Candidates from West Bengal State shall prepare the IPO/DD in favour – “IG BSF South Bengal” and shall be payable at – “SBI Chowringhee, Kolkata Code No.-1054”
NO FEE FOR SC/ST, EX-SERVICEMAN AND ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (see PDF below) along with attested copies of testimonials in support of eligibility such as – Qualification certificate, ITI certificate or work experience certificate, Caste certificate, Age proof certificate and Etc. Candidates must also enclose two self-addressed envelopes (size 25×12 cms) with affixed postal stamp of Rs.39/- on each.

The duly filled Application form along with enclosures may be sent to any one of the examination centre’s addresses nearest to the candidates (see PDF file below for address list of different examination centre) within 30 Days from the date of publication of Advertisement in the Employment News, i.e. 28/09/2014 (45 days, i.e.  13/09/2014 in case of candidates from far flung areas).
