Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), New Delhi, is recruiting 115 Scientist – ‘B’ in the following Engineering discipline– Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer and Textile Engineering. — Mechanical Engineering: 31 Nos. (Gen—13; OBC—9; SC—6; ST—3)
— Civil Engineering: 24 Nos. (Gen—10; OBC—7; SC—4; ST—3)
— Metallurgical Engineering: 9 Nos. (Gen—4; OBC—2; SC—2; ST—1)
— Chemical Engineering: 8 Nos. (Gen—4; OBC—2; SC—1; ST—1)
— Electrical Engineering: 31 Nos. (Gen—13; OBC—9; SC—6; ST—3)
— Computer Engineering/ Computer Science: 10 Nos. (Gen—4; OBC—3; SC—2; ST—1)
— Textile Engineering: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent with not less than 60% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST candidate)
Age Limit: The candidates must be between 21-27 years of age as on 01.12.2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Widow/ Legally divorced women—8yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600—Rs.39100/- and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/- plus other allowances as per norms.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidate will be through Online Examination and Interview. Candidates who have been shortlisted in the online examination will subsequently be called for an Interview.
The Interview centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from the official website of BIS— www.bis.org.in.
