Carriage and Wagon Workshop, North Frontier Railway – New Bongaigaon, is recruiting 60 Nos. of “Act Apprentices” in various trades, viz. – Machinist, Turner, Electrician, Wireman, Lineman, RAC Mech., Fitter, carpenter, Welder, MMTM, Painter and Crane Operator. Employment Notice No. 01/2014/NBQS. Matriculation pass or ITI pass candidates may apply. Educational qualification norms and brief details are given below —

TRADE APPRENTICES
Number of Vacancies: 60 Nos. (UR—38; SC—6; ST—2; OBC—14)

1. Machinist: 3 Nos. (ITI only)
2. Turner: 3 Nos. (ITI only)
3. R.A.C. (Mech): 3 Nos. (ITI only)
4. Electrician: 6 Nos. (ITI only)
5. Wireman: 2 Nos. (ITI only)
6. Lineman: 2 Nos. (ITI only)

Name of the Trades & No. of vacancies for Matriculation (Fresher) and ITI pass candidates —
1. Fitter: 20 Nos. (Fresher – 10; ITI – 10)
2. Carpenter: 5 Nos. (Fresher – 2; ITI – 3)
3. Welder (G&E): 6 Nos. (Fresher – 3; ITI – 3)
4. M.M.T.M: 5 Nos. (Fresher – 2; ITI – 3)
5. Painter: 3 Nos. (Fresher only)
6. Crane Operator: 2 Nos. (Fresher only)

 

Educational Qualification:
(i) Fresher Trade — Matriculation (Matriculation or 10th class passed in 10+2 Exam system).
(ii) ITI Trade — Matriculation (Class 10th passed in 10+2 examination system) and having ITI certificate from a institute affiliated to NCVT).

 

Age Limit as on 01.01.2014
(i) Fresher Trade — Completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22 years of age
(ii) ITI Trade — Completed 15 years of age and should have not completed 24 years of age.
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs and OBC- 3yrs, PWD – 10yrs and Others, if any – As per Govt. norms.

Training period and Stipend during training will be as per direction of RADT/ Kolkata and as per rule respectively.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the matriculation Examination or 10th class in 10+2 examination system. There will be no Written Examination.

 

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (See PDF below) along with attested copies of testimonials in support of eligibility.
Copies of all certificates viz. proof of date of birth, educational/technical Qualification, Caste Certificate, Employment Exchange Registration Card, Ex-serviceman certificate and physically handicap certificate etc. duly attested by a Gazetted Officer of Central or State Govt. should be submitted along with the application.
Candidates must also enclose two self-addressed envelopes (11×5 inches) with affixed postal stamp of Rs.5/- on it (SC/ST candidates do not need to affix postal stamp)

 

Processing Fee: A Crossed Postal Order for the amount of Rs. 20/- only drawn in favour of F.A. & C.A.O. N.F. Railway, Maligaon payable to GPO/Guwahati as a processing fee OR fee can also be paid in the form of Account Payee demand draft drawn from any Nationalized Bank in favour of F.A. & C.A.O., N.F. Railway, and payable at SBI/ Maligaon Branch.
NO FEE IS REQUIRED FOR SC/ST/PH CANDIDATES.

The envelope containing the application should be super-scribe “Application for engagement of Act Apprentice” against Employment Notice No. 01/2014/NBQS dt.17.10.2014 for engagement of Act Apprentices for imparting Training.

The Application form can be also submitted by dropping it in the Drop-Box kept at the Chief Workshop Manager’s Office, N.F.Rly. Carriage & Wagon Workshop, New Bongaigaon, during office hours.
