CENTRAL ELIGIBILITY TEST (CTET) – FEB 2014
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts CTET every year for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII. Candidates who qualify the CTET are only eligible to apply for the vacancies to the posts of Teacher (Class I to VIII) released by CBSE.
CTET examination will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice Question and will consist 2 papers. Paper I is for candidates willing to be a teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is for candidates willing to be a teacher for Class VI to VIII. Candidates who intends to be a teacher for both levels (i.e. from Class I to VIII) will have to appear in the both papers.
There is no negative marking for wrong answer.
Date of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) — 16/02/2014 (Sunday). Test will be held at various centres in India.
ELIGIBILITY OF THE CANDIDATES WILLING TO SIT FOR CTET – 2014:
Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage):
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Minimum Educational Qualification for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
N.B: Cut-off of 5% marks is applicable in the above mentioned educational qualification only for SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates.

Examination Fee — Candidates willing to sit for CTET – 2014 must may the below prescribed examination fee.
Rs.500/– for attending any one of the paper in case of General and OBC candidates (Rs.800/- if candidates wish to sit for both papers i.e. for Class I to V and Class VI to VIII)
AND Rs.250/– for attending any one of the paper in case of SC/ST/PWD candidates (Rs.400/- if candidates wish to sit for both papers i.e. for Class I to V and Class VI to VIII).
Examination fee can be paid online during form submission through Debit/ Credit card or can be paid offline through Bank transaction (from Syndicate Bank) or through Post Office transaction by means of fee payment challan which can be print-out from the CTET’s website during submission of Part I application of online form. After final submission of online application fee, i.e. after uploading of scan images of photograph and signature and payment of examination fee, the system generated Registration Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it on a plain paper and must send it to the below address .
The print-out Registration Slip with CBSE copy of fee payment (if paid through Bank/ Post Office challan. Superscribe the top of the application containing envelope with — “APPLICATION FOR CTET-FEB 2014”. The envelope containing the print-outs/application should be of 12”x9” in size.
