Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) recruiting for 21 Technical and Administrative posts. Last Dt. 31/05/2014

Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) under Indian Council of Agricultural Research is recruiting 21 Technical Assistant, Stenographer, Lower Division Clerk and Skipper at CIFT, Cochin and its Research Centres at Veraval, Visakhapatnam and Mumbai. Advertisement No. CIFT/1/2014. Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (See below). Qualification norms and brief details are given below —

TECHNICAL POSTS:
1. Technical Assistant (Laboratory Technician): 4 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—1)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Zoology/Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Fisheries Science/ Food Science/ Food Technology or equivalent qualification.
One year experience in the relevant field and knowledge of computer usage is desirable.

2. Technical Assistant (Field/ Farm):  2 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Sociology/ Statistics/Economics/ Social Sciences or equivalent qualification.
One year experience in the relevant field and knowledge of computer usage is desirable.

3. Technical Assistant (Press & Editorial) Hindi Translator: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Hindi Language or equivalent qualification from a recognized university, with three years experience in science writing and science journalism in Hindi as evidenced by published material.
AND Diploma in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa
Diploma in Journalism and knowledge of computer (Hindi typing on computer) is desirable.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSTS 
4. Stenographer Grade-III: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Class 12 pass or equivalent and shall have ability to take dictation test in English or in Hindi at 80 words per minute for 10 minutes and then transcribe the same on computer within 50 minutes (in English) or 65 minutes (in Hindi)

5. Lower Division Clerk: 7 Nos. (Gen—4; ST—1; OBC—2)
Qualification: Class 12 pass or equivalent and shall have typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer

6. Lower Division Clerk (Hindi Typist): 1Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Class 12 pass or equivalent and Typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.

7. Skipper Grade-II: 4 Nos. (Gen—3; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and Certificate of competency as Skipper. Candidates shall have 05 years experience on bboard fishing vessel after obtaining Mate Fishing Vessel competency Certificate

Age Limit:
For Technical Posts: Between 18yrs to 30yrs 
For Administrative Posts: Between 18yrs to 27yrs. 
The age will be counted as on last date of receipt of application. Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PH candidates.

Pay Scale:
For Technical Posts: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2800/-
For Administrative Posts: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400/-

Selection of the candidates will be through Test and Interview. Date and venue will be intimated in due course.

Application Fee: Candidates shall pay Rs.200/- in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of “ICAR Unit – CIFT” payable at Cochin and should be enclosed along with the application.
NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST AND ALL WOMEN CANDIDATES.
