Central Silk Board (CSB), under Ministry of Textiles, is inviting application for 229 posts of – Scientist – B, Computer Programmer, Inspector, Jr. Translator, Sr. Mechanic, Assistant, Upper / Lower Division Clerk, Stenographer and Etc. 1. Scientist-B
Number of Vacancies: 65 Nos.
Specialization wise vacancies— Plant Breeding & Genetics: 5 Nos.; Agronomy / Soil Science:7 Nos. ; Plant Physiology / Bio-Chemistry: 1 Nos. ; Plant Pathology: 5 Nos. ; Insect Breeding & Genetics: 6 Nos. ; Insect Pathology/ Immunology: 6 Nos. ; Insect Physiology / Bio-Chemistry: 4 Nos. ; Bio-Technology / Molecular Biology: 9 Nos. ; Agricultural Statistics: 3 Nos.; Sericulture/Agricultural Extension: 5 Nos. ; Agricultural Economics: 1 Nos. ; Microbiology: 3 Nos. ; Entomology: 8 Nos. ; Environment & Ecology: 2 Nos.
Qualification: Master’s degree in Science or Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-
Age: maximum 35yrs.

2. Scientist—B (Reeling & Spinning)
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (SC—1; Gen—1)
Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Textile Technology from a recognized University.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-
Age: 35yrs.

3. Computer Programmer
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Graduate with 2nd class in Computer with 2 years experience in Electronic Data Processing (EDP).
OR Graduate with 2nd class, in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, Economics and Post Graduate Diploma Course in Computer Applications and 2 years experience in EDP.
OR M.Sc. in Computer Science.
Age: maximum 30yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs.4600/-

4. Inspector (Silk)
Number of Vacancies: 4 Nos.
Qualification: 2nd Class Bachelor’s degree in Textiles or equivalent qualification from a recognized University or Diploma in Handloom Technology or Textiles with 3 years experience in the related field.
Age: maximum 30yrs
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs.4200/-

5. Junior Translator (Hindi)
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: 2nd Class Master’s Degree in Hindi from a recognized University with Diploma in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
Age: Below 30yrs

6. Senior Mechanic (Cold Storage)
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Diploma in Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Engineering or equivalent qualification

7. Senior Mechanic (Electrical)
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (OBC—1; Gen—1)
Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

8. Assistant (Technical) 
Number of Vacancies: 6 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—2; OBC—1)
Qualification: 2nd Class Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in Entomology/ Zoology / Botany / Agriculture / Sericulture or an equivalent qualification.
Age: Below 30yrs

9. Technical Assistant (Reeling & Spinning)
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos.  (ST)
Qualification: 3 year Diploma Course in Textile Technology/ Handloom Technology. If candidates have knowledge of computer then it will be taken as added advantage.
Age: Below 27yrs
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs.4200/-

10. Assistant
Number of Vacancies: 7 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—2; OBC—1; OBC-VH—1)
Qualification: 2nd Class Bachelor’s degree in Science/Commerce/Arts/ Bachelor of Law. Candidates shall have 5yrs office experience.
Age: Below 30 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs.4200/-

11. Statistical Assistant 
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; PWD-HH—1)
Qualification: 2nd Class Master’s degree with at least 50% marks in Statistics.
Age: Below 30yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.2800/-

12. Upper Division Clerk 
Number of Vacancies: 6 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—1; OBC—2)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Commerce/Arts and shall have pass in Junior Grade Typewriting examination conducted by State Technical Education Board with a speed of 30 words per minute in English typewriting. Typing test will be conducted on computer only.
Age: Below 25yrs
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400/-

13. Junior Stenographer (Hindi)
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent shall have pass in Hindi Typewriting and Shorthand examinations conducted by the State Technical Education Board with a speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi Typewriting and 80 words per minute in Hindi Shorthand. Computer knowledge will be an added advantage.
Skill test will be conducted on computer only.

14. Field Assistant 
Number of Vacancies: 112 Nos. (Gen—47; SC—14; ST—6; OBC—29; PWD—4; Ex-Servicemen—12)
Qualification: Matriculation (with Science) or Diploma in Sericulture or an equivalent qualification.
Age: Below 25yrs
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.2000/-

15. Lower Division Clerk 
Number of Vacancies: 14 Nos. (Gen—6; SC—1; OBC—4; PWD—1; Ex-Servicemen—2)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and shall have pass in Junior Grade Typewriting examination conducted by State Technical Education Board with a speed of 30 words per minute in English Typewriting.

16. Lower Division Clerk (Hindi Typist)
Number of Vacancies: 3 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and shall have pass Junior Grade Typewriting examination conducted by State Technical Education Board with a speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi Typewriting.

Upper age relaxation: The age mentioned above along with name of the post will be counted as on last date of receipt of application, i.e. 14/03/2014.

After successful Registration, Print-Out the Application Form. Candidates shall print-out the Application and shall paste his/her recent photograph, put his/her signature at the specified space, enclose photocopies of certificates with regard to educational qualifications, age, experience, Disability Certificate in respect of Persons with Disabilities[Certificate issued by Medical Board] and Caste Certificate in the case of SC/ST/OBC etc. issued by Competent Authority and send the same at the following Address:  Member-Secretary, Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Hosur Road, B.T.M.
