Physical Standards (Home and Police Department Posts)
- Sub Inspector (Shorthand) and ASI posts: Minimum height 153 cm for UR/SC/OBC men and women. For ST candidates, 153 cm for men and 151 cm for women. Eyesight of 6/9 and 6/12 without glasses, and no colour blindness.
- Home Guard, Fire and Emergency Services and SDRF posts (Shorthand, DEO, Assistant Grade 3): Minimum height 162 cm for men and 152 cm for women, with no disability, knock knees, flat feet or eye disease.
- These candidates will have a second-stage physical measurement test conducted by the department.
Age Limit
- Age will be counted as on 1st January 2026.
- The minimum age is 21 years, as per the GAD order dated 12 October 2026.
- Upper age relaxation will be given as per the GAD circular dated 3 August 2024 (Annexure A). For Home (Police) Department posts, the rules in the notification dated 10 September 2026 (Annexure B) apply.
