Educational Qualification:
I. For Practising Advocates/ Pleaders and Assistant Public Prosecutors:-
i) Must possess a Degree in Law from a recognised University or Institution or any other equivalent qualification and enrolled in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu or in the Bar Council of any other State in India.
ii) a) Must be practising as an Advocate or Pleader in any Court and must have so practiced for a period of not less than 03 years.
OR
b) Must be an Assistant Public Prosecutor having not less than 03 years of experience as an Advocate and/ or Assistant Public Prosecutor.
II. For Fresh Law Graduates:-
i) Must be a fresh Law Graduate possessing a degree in Law from a recognized University with 50% marks (45% marks for Reserved Categories).
ii) Must be eligible to be enrolled as an advocate.
iii) Must have obtained the Bachelor’s Degree of Law within a period of 03 years prior to the date of notification.
Age Limit: Minimum 22 years (25 years for Practising Advocates/ Pleaders & Assistant Public Prosecutors) and maximum 27 years (35 years for Practising Advocates/ Pleaders & Assistant Public Prosecutors) as on 01.07.2019.
Pay Scale: Rs. 27,700-44770/-
The vacancies are in the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service on Direct Recruitment basis. The selected candidates will undergo training for a minimum period of twelve (12) months.
Reserved Category candidates from the states other than Tamil Nadu will be treated as General Category candidates.

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for Practicing Advocates/ Pleaders and Assistant Public Prosecutors belonging to SC/ SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC, BCM & Destitute Widows of all categories.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Viva-Voce Test. The date of Preliminary Examination is 24/11/2019 and date of Main Examination is 28/03/2020 & 29/03/2020. The Preliminary Examination will be held in the following centres:- Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Salem, Thanjavur, Vellore & Villupuram. Main Written Examination and Viva-Voce will be held at Chennai only. The Viva-Voce Test will be held in June, 2020.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.500/- as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Note: It is mandatory for candidates to register their basic particulars through One-Time online Registration system on payment of Rs.150/- towards registration fee.
