Indian Overseas Bank is recruiting 1100 Boys and Girls for the post of “Clerical Staff” . Candidates with total marks of 65% (60% for SC, ST, PH and Ex-serviceman) in Higher Secondary or its equivalent can apply for the post. Graduate pass candidates with minimum 50% in any branch (45% for SC/ST/Ph or Ex-Ser.) can also apply. Even Banking Diploma course pass candidates from recognized institute or training centre can also apply.

Candidates applying for the post should have knowledge and skill to work on computer, if not then should have to learn it within six months from the date of joining the job. Candidates applying for a particular State should have ability to read, write and talk the official language of that State.

Age should be between 18 yrs to 28 yrs as on 1-1-2011. Age relaxation for OBC- 3yrs; ST/SC- 5yrs; PH-10 yrs and Ex-Serviceman- as per norms.

Pay scale: Rs.7200- Rs.19300

Vacant Post: No. of vacant varies from State to State. For West Bengal (State Code-37): 55 Nos. (Gen-29; OBC-12; SC-12 and ST-2) Among them 1 for PH and 6 for Ex-Serviceman. For vacant post in others States of India, please visit the Bank’s website for more details: http://www.iob.in

Selection of Candidates: For selection of Candidates; a Written Test of 250 Marks will be held on 29th May at respective centres. Questions will be Objective Types of following five papers:- (I).Test of Reasoning, (II). Numerical Ability, (III). General Awareness (Mostly based on Banking Industries), (IV). English Language and (V).Computer Knowledge. Time allotted- 2.5 hrs. If selected; will be called for Interview, which will be of 50 Marks. There will be Negative Marking for wrong answer.

How to Apply: Candidates can apply only through Online System, i.e. through any Internet connected computer. Online Application should be done within dated 4th March to 25 March 2011.

Before applying Online, candidates will have to deposit Rs. 250 (Rs. 50 in case of SC/ST, PH and Ex-Serv.) as Examination Fee through any Branch of Indian Overseas Bank. Fee can be deposited through Fee Payment Receipt Only, this receipt can be downloaded from the Bank’s Website: http://www.iob.in

After depositing the Examination fee, candidates can visit the Bank’s website and can fill-up the Application with accurate details. After Submitting the form, a system generated form will appear, this form should be printed and keep it carefully along with fee payment receipt (Deposit Journal No.). Candidates will be provided with Registration No and Password during submission of Online Application which should be memorized.

Candidates should keep all document carefully, they will need to produce these during Written Examination.

All candidates should have their own valid E-mail ID, if do not have any, then a new e-mail id should be created before applying for the post.
