Coffee Board of India is recruiting 41 posts of Subject Matter Specialist, Assistant Specialist and Research Assistant in different disciplines. COFFEE BOARD OF INDIA INVITES APPLICATION FOR 41 POSTS OF SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALIST, ASSISTANT SPECIALIST AND RESEARCH ASSISTANT. LAST DATE — 15/04/2015

 

1. Subject Matter Specialist:
Discipline wise vacancies are as follows—

(i) Agronomy: 1 Nos. (ST)
(ii) Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology: 2 Nos. (Gen)
(iii) Biochemistry [Post-Harvest Technology]: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(iv) Agricultural Engineering [Post-Harvest Technology]: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(v) Analytical Chemistry: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(vi) Agricultural Economics: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(vii) Coffee Quality: 3 Nos. (OBC—1 & Gen—2)

Educational Qualification (for all above discipline except Coffee Quality): Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture with specialization in same subject or Post Graduate Degree in Horticulture, preferably, with specialization in Plantation Crops.
OR
Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Agricultural Chemistry.

For Coffee Quality: Post Graduate Degree in Food Technology or Food Science and Nutrition or Post Graduate Degree in Science with specialization in Biotechnology or Botany or Zoology or Biochemistry or Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry. Should qualify in the Organoleptic Evaluation on Coffee Quality Aspects.

Experience (for all above posts): 3 years experience n Agricultural Research or Agricultural Extension or Agricultural Teaching.
Desirable (for all above posts): Doctorate Degree in the concerned discipline. Experience of research on perennial crops in the concerned field, authorship of technical papers published in recognized Scientific Journals.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600/- to Rs.39100/- per month and Grade Pay Rs.5400/- per month.

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on closing date of receipt of application. The upper age relaxation for reserved category as per govt. norms.

 

2. Assistant Specialist:
Discipline wise vacancies are as follows—

(i) Agronomy: 2 Nos. (Gen)
(ii) Plant Breeding and Genetics: 1 Nos. (SC)
(iii) Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(iv) Agricultural Chemistry: 4 Nos. (SC—1; ST—1 & Gen—2)
(v) Plant Pathology: 3 Nos. (Gen)
(vi) Entomology: 3 Nos. (ST—1 & Gen—2)
(vii) Biochemistry and Agricultural Engineering [Post-Harvest Technology]: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(viii) Coffee Quality: 1 Nos. (Gen)

Educational Qualification (for all above posts): Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture with specialization in same subject or Post Graduate Degree in Horticulture, preferably, with specialization in Plantation Crops.
OR Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Agricultural Chemistry.

Desirable: Doctorate Degree in the concerned discipline. Experience of research on perennial crops in the concerned field.

Pay Scale : Rs.9300/- to Rs.34800/- per month and Grade Pay Rs.4600/- per month.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years as on closing date of receipt of application. The upper age relaxation for reserved category as per govt. norms.

 

3. Research Assistant Grade-I:
Discipline wise vacancies are as follows—

(i) Agronomy: 2 Nos. (Gen)
(ii) Plant Tissue Cultural and Biotechnology: 2 Nos. (Gen)
(iii) Plant Psychology: 3 Nos. (OBC—1 & Gen—2)
(iv) Plant Pathology: 3 Nos. (OBC—2 & Gen—1)
(v) Entomology: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(vi) Biochemistry [Post-Harvest Technology]:1 Nos. (Gen)
(vii) Agricultural Engineering [Post-Harvest Technology]: 1 Nos. (Gen)
(viii) Coffee Quality: 2 Nos. (Gen)

Educational Qualification (for all above discipline except Coffee Quality): Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture with specialization in same subject or Post Graduate Degree in Horticulture, preferably, with specialization in Plantation Crops.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.500/- through Demand Draft (DD) / Indian Postal Order (IPO) drawn in favour of “Coffee Board General Fund Non-Plan Account” payable at Bengaluru.
No Application Fee for SC/ST/PWD/Women Candidates.

 

Mode of Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Interview. Exact date, Time and Venue for examination will be intimated in due course.
