Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) is recruiting 618 male for the post of “Head Constable (Motor Mechanic)”, “Constable (Motor Mechanic)” and “Constable (Driver)” in Group-C, on temporary basis which is likely to be permanent. Details below—
1. Head Constable (Motor Mechanic): 58 Nos. (Gen-23, OBC-27, SC-7, ST-1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass from a recognized Board and Certificate in Motor Mechanic from a recognized institution/ ITI with 3 years practical experience in the trade in a reputed workshop or 3 years diploma in Automobile Engineering.
Age: Within 19yrs to 25 yrs as on 24-2-2012
Salary: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2,400/- per month.
2. Constable (Motor Mechanic): 135 Nos. (Gen-57, OBC-45, SC-22, ST-11)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass from a recognized Board and Certificate from a recognized institution/ ITI in Automobile Engineering/Motor Mechanic trade.
Age: 18yrs to 25yrs as on 24/2/2012
Salary: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2,000/- per month.
3. Constable (Driver): 425 Nos. (Gen-180, OBC-52, SC-154, ST-39)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass from a recognized Board and Valid driving License for Light/Medium/Heavy vehicles with minimum 2 years experience in driving.
Age: within 20yrs to 25yrs as on 24/2/2012.
Salary: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2,000/- per month.
From the total no. of vacant posts, 10% of the vacancies in each category are reserved for Ex-Serviceman.
Age relaxation for all the above posts: OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs and Ex-Serviceman- as per norms.
Physical Standard—
For all posts— Height: 170cm, Chest (unexpand/ expand): 80cm/85cm, Weight- proportional to height and age.
For Categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh & Ladakh division of J&K state—Candidates should be minimum 165cm in height (162.5cm for SC/ST) and Chest(unexpanded/ expanded): 78cm/83cm (76cm/81cm for SC/ST) and Weight should be proportional to height and weight.
Eye Sight: The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of 2 eyes without correction/without wearing of glasses.
The candidates must not have knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Selection steps: Checking of documents, Physical Standard Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test, Practical Test, Interview and then Medical Examination.
Physical Efficiency Test will be of – (i) 1 mile race to be completed in six and half minutes, (ii) 11 feet long jump (3 chances to be given) and (iii) 3.5 feet high jump (3 chances to be given). Physical Efficiency test will not be taken for Ex-Serviceman.
Written Exam will be of 50 marks – G.K./Language literature/ Gen. Math (35 Marks) and Trade Theory (15 Marks)
Practical Test will be 50 marks and Interview will be of 15 marks.
How to Apply: Application can be prepared as per given format. Passport size photographs affixed on application duly attested by Gazetted Officer should be sent along with application fee, and enclosures mentioned below.
Application Fee: The candidates belonging to General and OBC category will be required to pay Rs 50/- (non-refundable) as application fee in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS)/Indian Postal Order/ Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Inspector General, (Northern) Frontier, ITBP, Payable at – SBI- IMA Dehradun, Code No – 0739”.

- Attested copy of Educational Certificate
- Attested copy of Birth Certificate or Madhyamik certificate for proof of birth date
- Caste Certificate, for SC/ST and OBC candidates
- Domicile Certificate issued by local revenue authorities for verification of citizenship / for claiming relaxation in height and chest.
- Discharge certificate for Ex-Servicemen.
- Valid Driving License (for candidate applying for the post of Constable/Driver)
- Professional/experience certificate.
- IPO/Bank Draft of Rs.50/- (for General and OBC Candidates only).
Two self addressed envelopes of 4×9 size with Rs. 5/- postage stamps affixed on each envelope.
