Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is recruiting 995 male candidates for the post of “Constable/ Fire”. The posts were on temporary basis but likely to become permanent. Application is to be made on prescribed format and should reach within 18/7/2012. Matriculation pass candidates may apply for the post. The qualification and other eligibility criteria is given below in brief—

30. West Bengal: 44 Nos. (Gen-21; SC-9; ST-2; OBC-12)
— West Bengal (Naxal/ Militancy affected areas): 28 Nos. (Gen-15; SC-7; OBC-6)
N.B: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and Others is as per Govt. norms. Only male candidates should apply.

Qualification required: Matriculation (Class-10) pass with Science from recognised board.

Age limit: between 18yrs to 23yrs as on 18/7/2012. Age relaxation for OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs and Other categories—as per norms.

Physical Standard: 
For General / OBC and SC candidates Height:170cms; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 80cms/ 85cms.
For ST candidates only Height:162.5 cms; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 76cms/ 81cms
Cut-off in Height and Chest for Candidates from Hill areas, Naxal/ Militant affected areas and Others is as per norms. Please refer the Advt. given below.
Weight (for all categories): proportionate to height and age.
Eye sight: 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes in distant vision.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes, bow legs and etc which may hinder in performance of duty.

Selection steps: Candidates will be selected through — Height bar test, Physical Measurement test, Run, Written Examination and finally Medical Examination.
Run will of 5 KM which is to be completed within 24 minutes. Candidates who qualified in Runs will be only called for Written Examination.
The written examination for 100 marks will consist of 100 objective type multiple choice questions to be answered in 120 minutes and will be in following topics — general awareness/general knowledge, knowledge of elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test the basic knowledge of the candidate in English/Hindi. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English.
Date and venue will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates through Call letters.

How to Apply: Application is to be made on prescribed format or can be typed neatly on plain paper as per format.
Application Fee: Candidates should pay Application fee of Rs.50 in form of Indian Postal Order only drawn in favour of the officer as per State/ UT. No application fee required for SC/ST and Ex-Serviceman candidates.

Application form should be enclosed with the following attachments—

  • Crossed IPO of Rs.50 (Not required for SC/ST and Ex-Serviceman)
  • One self-addressed envelope (8X9 cms) affixed with postal stamps of Rs.22
  • 3 Nos. passport size self-signed photographs. (one copy on Application form and others as enclosures)
  • Questionnaire as per Appendix–“B” duly filled in and signed by the candidate.

Qualification certificates and other essential documents will need to produce in original during recruitment process.

The envelope containing application form should be supersribed—“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE/FIRE”.

Last Date of Application: Application form should reach within 18th July 2012 (25th July 2012 for  candidates of North Eastern region).
